Based on what the definition of flag-bearer is, I’d say Submariner. But a Datejust is a good choice too.

We all have our own views, but Rolex seem to believe their flag bearer to be the DateJust - just look at what they choose to feature at F1, golf, Wimbledon etc etc

The flag bearer is clearly a Tiffany blue Nautilus

If you are like me and had all the above and went back to the black sub date as you realized it is the best and all you need!

I was thinking the same thing. Their focus on the fluted bezel as the branded Rolex look at these events tells you what Rolex believe is their centerpiece. Doesn’t mean other watches aren’t hotter or also iconic.

Which is the flagbearer of modern SS Rolex: The Pepsi or Daytona?

A flutted bezel used on everything from DJ’s to DD’s to sport references

I think Rolex signage is brilliant in that they use the most recognizable feature in a generic sense.

Very well put - exactly how I see it. The question is what model fits to this description though 😀

I would say sub. But my favorite is Daytona. Always Daytona.

Forget the SS

The DD’s are true king of the brand.

White dial steel Panda Daytona by far is the iconic face of Rolex steel or any other material currently. Pepsi isn't even close.

the quintessential iconic sports watch from Rolex is the Submariner....and the dressy side of things would be either Datejust or Day-Date due to its cyclops and fluted bezel design

mind you, Daytona wasn't selling really well from historical record; it wasn't until recently that the social media created the sports hype
