Yes, this is like some kind of disease. You're only done when you move on to other hobbies.

Another part of me is asking if I really need this many watches. I still have not worn the OP41 and DJ yet . And here I am buying the new black Tudor pelagos FXD right after I just got a VTNR. Back in 2019 I started off looking for a no date sub ended up with a SD43 which was my grail at the time. I thought I was gonna be done once I get the SD43. But lil I know that was just a beginning. Now I don't really have a grail. Just a list of watches I want and I know will get. Sometimes I sit there and just think about the pieces that got away or I couldn't obtain, feels like this void that needs to be filled. Is this like some kind of disease?
Its a healthy hobby and of the few where you derive pleasure from ownership while not suffering (if you buy right) much depreciation. In fact, there is still room for financial upside which cannot be said from most other hobbies.

I wear a watch every day and since I am not dressed the same or doing the same thing every day I need a few different options.

I'll admit that wearing a watch on a day I'm at the office with a clock on the wall, on the screen in front of me and on the phone I'm never more than 2 feet away from...it's basically jewelry.

Fortunately for my wallet, I have a pretty simple sense of style. I may have a dozen pairs of dress shoes but they are either black or brown. I have no green dress shoes, no oversize dress shoes, no dress shoes with retractable skate wheels, no two-tone ostrich skin dress shoes and none have red laces.

I have a few white dial watches and a few casual watches but these 3 are pretty much all I really need...or even want. It took years of owning watches I liked the idea of but never wore to figure this out.

You have a very modest, yet elegant, watch collection.
But a dozen pairs of dress shoes seems excessive!

Maybe, but they are infinitely cheaper than watches. With business becoming more casual, I'm probably below a dozen now that I think about it..but 8 or 9 still. And I do have to own up to 8 watches total with a white dial Speedmaster, a white dial Dornbluth and a few Sinn and Stowa rounding it out.

I wear a watch every day and am a programmer: I dress the same every day (jeans + black/white shirt), and do the same thing every day. I have only one watch :-D
