Daytona 126500LN Video Review

It is a matter of personal preference but I dont think I will take a delaer (or an AD) on face value.

Just because the secondary price is higher, doesn’t mean his margins are higher. He has to buy it from someone who knows what it’s worth. The person making more money is the one who bought it from an AD and is selling it to him.

Going from that image the new SS case is identical to that which has been in use for years with the WG/RG/PT references and the YG on oysterflex.

Where the 11 series six digit references on the full bracelet differ to the new references (and what I believe creates the largest visual difference between the two styles) is the centre piece of the end link.

Previously it had a shallower curve than the lugs, and protruded further. This was more pronounced on the WG/RG/PT Oyster bracelet Daytonas which helped to balance out the steeper lug profile.

Had Rolex kept the old end link design (perhaps even utilising the old, stepped design of the WG/RG/PT Oyster bracelet Daytonas (as can be seen in the image of the PT Bagette dialled Daytona in illiguy's post 41 on this thread, I suspect there would be less complaints about the case redesign.

the 12 daytona has a flatter caseback, which makes the watch sit lower on the wrist when wearing it. dont know the difference visually, I might need to try it on before deciding which one i prefer.

Can’t believe there is still no black dial review.

I feel the reason is the white dial heightens the changes in the new model versus the old more. Plus the white dial Panda is the current iconic model of Rolex.

Look at the strait line elephant foot lugs on the new Daytona and compare it to the nice curvy lugs on the old Daytona, and how it transitions perfectly to the curvy bracelet links. New design will look better on oysterflex Daytonas in my opinion.

No one had a problem with the lugs when they were on the PM pieces for many years.

the lugs look better on the 116505, not drop as steep as the 126500. may be different case design or visual difference between gold and steel, I'm not sure.

The end lug is a little different on the steel - it’s a bit steeper. That might be what you are reacting to.

Hello everyone. Given the impossibility of obtaining this watch and the prices on the grey market, it is better to buy the 116519LN version which is (in my opinion) much more beautiful in terms of the dial, is in precious metal and on Oysterflex.

This is just my opinion.

Look at the center link of the old reference sticking out like that. Once you see the new version, the flaws in the old one become very evident. I think the old reference prices will correct further as everyone seems to love the new reference.

Would be easier to tell if the 2 watches were placed side by side on something that has an even diameter surface.

The new one is flawed to me. It has a blocky drop off from the side view. It would be nicer if it did flare out. I bet they’ll fix that in the future.

I like the new iteration but prefer the 116. I wish he would have taken calipers to it. It looks like the lug to lug is longer on the 126.

If the new case is the same size as the PM Oysterflex models then yes the lug to lug is about 1mm longer. I tried on a 126503 a few weeks ago and it felt and looked much bigger than the 116503 model. The lug to lug was noticeably bigger. Overall the watch just felt "off" to me....but I am a small wristed guy, I am sure alot of Daytona fans will enjoy the increased size....I am just not among that crowd.

This actually makes sense and what I thought. Got to push the new releases at even higher markups. Notice how every reviewer says "I originally though I wasn't going to like it. In the flesh I do." It's like they're following a script, similar to the SS Pepsi getting discontinued nonsense

I'm actually kind of surprised that so many people prefer the 11 series. I can't look at one now without thinking how awkward it looks for the lugs to be shaped differently. It quickly becomes an eyesore. As to the shape of the case itself, I much much much prefer the 12 series case. It looks very similar to the yacht-master 1 which wears extremely comfortably. I'm sure most will warm up to it sooner than later.

Thanks for the info. I have small wrists as well and love the size of the 116500. Glad I have one already.
