Hehehe, Lisa, if you ask the old people here, I don't sound like a native. I can speak some Cajun French and my husband speaks it fairly fluently.

I moved here in high school from Texas. So I sound Cajun to everyone except the natives....hehehe. I think they still detect a little Texas twang.

I think it will be a great experience for your kids, especially if they can go with you and maybe the rehabbers can talk to them and let them see the other ducklings???

Thanks, Shannon. It has been quite a journey. I like Michelle's idea for compiling a book with photos about his life, from egg to healthy duckling. At this point, even if I never get around to that, pretty much all of the info is right here in this thread, for ducky posterity.

My sister lived in Baton Rouge for a few years and caught some flak for her Oklahoma/Texas accent (she went to Baylor and picked up a bit of that... also turned her into a Baptist, but that's another story....)

Hoping to get some pics of Ducky's new family at The WildCare Foundation when we get there. They seem to have a very good facility for waterfowl.

Carl, THAT IS AMAZING!!! You put the biggest grin on my face. I called in hubby to listen, too. He says you've got a great Marshall sound - wants to know what kind of Marshall you have.

Is this something you wrote? Love it, just love it. thought maybe I was hearing a little influence from ZZ Top or Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Your accent is very cute! This may seem like a crazy guess, but it sounds almost Canadian/Asian, eh?

It's really been, well, just nearly overwhelming and very, very heartwarming how much support and interest you all have shown over this little duck. Carl and Wes, thank you so much for sharing your musical talent... all in the name of a fuzzy little fellow.

Thank you so much guys, I really appreciate it!

Lisa, I am not Asian at all but rather a big mix of all sorts of things (mostly from Middle East, Egypt and India) with a father from Quebec. The accent you hear is still 100% from Quebec though (you wouldn't be able to guess that my mother immigrated here if you were to hear her talk).

I'm glad that you appreciate it, I may cover a couple of songs someday but I didn't write this one, it's just a blues in G I improvised (you can tell as there's a lot of repetition in my playing). As for your husband's question, it was my Les Paul plugged in a Marshall MG100FX (through a Marshall Bluesbreaker overdrive pedal).

I hope the little duckie enjoyed...

You guys...

I was hesitating a lot because of my accent (and...well alright, let's be honest, my lisp! ) but hey, given my usual posts I can't really fear looking/sounding ridiculous, right?

WOW, WOW, WOW. You smashed that outta the park. So impressed mate, you have a great sound there.

Can see we are gonna be having a sort off music dance off type thingy here to impress the girls, but I can't top that.

Mate, don't go trying to change that french accent, thought the girls here would be swooning over that.

Thank you so much Wes, I appreciate it!

Don't worry though, I can play more melodic and fancy things if you want me to be good enough for your wonderful piano music! I don't have to always play rough blues...

The little ducky is so lucky to have a friend like you
When it's cold outside the little fellow can
Cheer up when Lisa sings those Little Ducky Blues

I fully expect you to put a full band behind those guitar licks.
Edit, re-record, and have a number #1 hit.......

Best,

Dan

Thank you Dan! As for the band, I'm not really into it (although my brother plays the drums and we do have a lot of fun together) but if Wes gives me the okay...who knows if we can't combine a little something (with Michelle, her sister or Lisa singing...anybody!? ).

Until the day when you and Wes can collaborate, you two dudes must keep posting your music, please!
If you need a vocalist, its not me,( I only sing to country music in my car with the windows rolled up), but my sister would audition for you two; she is trying t o start up her own website....I'll keep encouraging her!

hey coffee shop people,
For more music magic, you can find Wes on youtube-
Heart asks pleasure first- brought a tear to my eye-its heart wrenching;
Ebb Tide is beautiful, and Wes...we can see your watch!

Lisa your Ducky story continues! Thanks to Kaya! And its not an ending, but a new exciting chapter for the little guy- please keep us posted!

Carl- how do we find your recording on youtube? I want to download it, and cannot locate it using '"the baby duck blues". Also, your accent IS Quebecois!-TH= D, "that" sounds like "Dat"! Don't lose it- you don't want to sound like you're from Toronto!

Lion- Did you have a happy father's day? I sure hope you and your son got some FaceTime! Judging by my husband, who needed constant reminders to call his dad yesterday!, it might be tougher for sons to "reach out" when they are so busy with their own lives..

Thomas and his Lovebird!!- Those little fellas are the most devoted companions,(hence their names I guess), I bought a little hand fed lovebird from a pet store- years ago. He only lived 1 & 1/2 years, but it was the most amazing time for me- we bonded, like I've never done since with a "pet". He was house trained, and would ride around on my shoulder; he would fall asleep on my chest, while I watched TV at night- he'd stretch out from his beak to his tail feathers while I pet him...When he died, he was at my parent's place while my hubby and I were spending a week in the Florida Keys....My mom said he died of a broken heart...ya, I really needed to hear that...

Anyway folks, have a great day

Hi Michelle, I've posted them on the forum before.

Ebb Tide was a request from the beautiful Lisa, guessing it's her favorite song.
