Pat, you're cheating - watching the kids' Boomerang channel, aren't you! Many of those good old cartoons are on there.

No, but I'd better put it on my list. The list of books I'll read someday... when the kids are grown!

It comes loaded with several voice options. Right now I have decided on a manly man narrator with a lovely UK accent. I can also connect it directly to my computer to update maps (download more voice options), etc.

I just love technology! Seriously - it amazes me sometimes.
GPS'eseses have come a long ways... I have an old Garmin StreetPilot that was amazing in its day. It cost almost $600 and isn't even color. Today's versions offer color, 3d perspective, routing, upgradable w/cheap SD cards, voice prompting and so much more... all starting at $149. If you're on a road trip or, worse, lost in a strange city, they can be invaluable. You literally can't get lost any more. Even if you take a wrong turn and end up somewhere you don't want to be, you can get back on track without the uncertainty or stress usually associated with those circumstances. When it comes to GPS'eseses, technology truly is GREAT!! I won't even get into mountain hiking, etc. Another great use for GPS...

You said it right there: "You literally can't get lost anymore." That is a great feeling!

I like to think of myself as a modern woman. I'm educated, I've worked as a professional for many years, and I can talk intelligently on a variety of subjects. But I have this habit that I just can't shake. What is it??

I watch soaps. It started with my mom - I would sneak a peek when she had them on at home growing up. Then, at college, my roommate would have CBS on everyday from 2 - 4. Pretty soon I was hooked. Then, I managed to break free for many years - career, etc. However, since I've been home with my children, it's so tempting! Everyday at 1:30, I put on the Bold and the Beautiful. It's only a half hour (OK, sometimes I watch 15 minutes of As The World Turns as well), and I eat my lunch during that time.

But I feel so silly. None of my friends know. But every weekday, around 1:30, it's like "pssst - turn on the TV. You know you want to...". Ack!!

My wife is addicted to Days of our lives. She has been since we met 15 yrs ago. She records them religiously every day

I told her if she didn't tape it for a month, the same stuff would be going on when she started watching again

Thank you, Paulie! You know - when I took a 10+ hiatus from my faves, it was astonishingly easy to pick right back up. Many of the same actors were still there!

My weekend is Tuesday and Wednesday, so I consider Thursday my Monday, and so on....
Good thing about that is that your Monday is my Friday!

I've had too wild a day to think too hard on that, Mireyna. Happy Saturday to ya'll, too. We had a busy day with Phoebe's big 8th birthday. She had a friend over last night and they spent the day together today. This morning we went to Incredible Pizza, which is a huge pizza buffet/arcade with a million kids there. I had to keep telling myself, 'find your happy place. Find your happy place..." I knew my daughter was having a great time, though, so it was bearable. But I was glad to get out of there! Then, after we got home, family met up at our house for cake and ice cream. Now, everyone's gone, I have 2 out of 3 baths given, and soon all will be calm because the girls are very tired. If I can last that long, I'll come back later tonight!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble wrapping her head around Mireyna's schedule. Sounds like a hectic day for you! We have a place here similar to Incredible Pizza, called "Chuck E Cheese" and the kids love it, but it's like an insane asylum for parents looking for "the happy place"!

Ya did good, mum!!!

Ah, yes. We, too, have Chuck E. Cheese. It's about the same thing. Take lots of sedatives before and after. I've been there, too, for another kid's party and vowed Never Again. Just kidding about the sedatives. Well, not entirely. Zoloft does it for me!

Happy Saturday! I have been to TOO many parties at Chuck E. Cheese for my liking. Those places are crazy!!

My husband and I went out to dinner alone tonight!! My FIL is a sweetie and loves to babysit the kiddos. The only bad part of my day is that my poor car (14 yr old Accord) blew a head gasket earlier. It's getting towed to the mechanics Monday morning...

Lisa, you need some quiet music and a massage or something to counteract the madness you experienced today. Happy birthday, Phoebe!!

Aw, Carolina, I'm just happy to hang out at the quiet coffeeshop for a while.

Good for you to have a dinner date! But sorry about the car. How has the maintenance/repair been on the car before this happened? I hear great things about Accords.

I almost forgot - we went to a b-day party at the Cheese a couple of months ago. My hubby bought me a very high priced, low quality beer there. It was lovely, and worth every dollar!

Really good until now. This Accord lived up to its reputation. However, I know it could be up to $1000 to fix, so we'll see. I really don't want a car payment!!!!
