P.S.: I agree with the idea of talking a little bit!
Hey Carl, I love it when you do that little "Pffff" thing...its so French Canadian!

And Wes- all this suggesting that you talk a bit....might lead to us wanting you to sing a bit!

I could dig out my tap shoes and do a little tap dance for everyone as well.

Where did I put that top hat and cane?

Sounds delish, Michelle! My kids will eat them whole, like apples. For Christmas one year, my middle girl said she's like Santa to bring her new shoes... and tomatoes.

Wish they could be grown year round. Wouldn't it be fun to have a greenhouse in the back yard!

I used to eat tomatoes like this a lot when I was younger! I also love them with some fresh mozzarella cheese!

Wes? Me? Brothers? Meh, why not?

Carl, that's like Calabrese salad!,(if by fresh mozzarella you mean bocconcini balls ?) Slices of ripe-amazingly juicy tomatoes, alternating with slices of bocconcini, and sprinkled with some fresh basil , and then drizzled with olive oil and a squirt of balsamic vinegar......
damn,,,a craving,,,,,

Oh Lisa, it would be amazing to have a green house! For me,(pathetic lack of green in my thumb)- I'd have to be the lucky neighbour who is on great terms with you, so I could pop over for some fresh tomatoes!

Wes! Wes! I have something to tell you.

Took Violet out for lunch at a favorite spot, Panera Bread. We ordered at the counter, and the woman there had a distinctly English accent - so distinct that I had to ask her to repeat much of what she said as my Okie ears had difficulty understanding. Turns out she is from Leicester. The only thing I know about Leicester is that they have a really nice cheese, which I can in fact buy from a cheese import shop nearby.

I thought about asking her if she knew where to buy McVities locally, but the line was so long I thought better of it. Still need to check out Wal-Mart.

You should of asked, I guarantee she would of known. Not quite sure what accent they have, although Leicester is close to Birmingham, so think some of their Brummie accent would rub off.

Well if you can't find any I can send some over, it's the least I can do for you.

Sorry Michelle, hope you didn't think I was being rude/sarcastic with the comment. My attempt at humour.

Obviously really appreciate you and the others here looking at my vids. I also post/show them out to my (real life) friends and I'll be lucky if I get one, "that was good"

Calabrese salad is really good (I eat that very often) and bocconcini cheese balls are very tasty as well but mozzarella balls are slightly different. They're softer, usually much bigger and have a different texture and taste. I love bocconcini in a salad and sometimes on pieces of tomatoes as well but if you want a bit of change in the taste I'd recommend you to look for that other one, you won't regret it!

Now get yourself over here and bring your piano, we must have a gig and I don't want to fly all the way to the UK!

I don't normally participate in the plant, flower, garden threads because frankly its just not interesting but this caught my attention.

Taken this spring:

The same place taken this afternoon:

Seems I have some trimming to do.

I have no idea what kind of plants they are. They have red, trumpet shaped flowers and hang from over the neighbor's fence over my fish pond/stream. They grow long and fast.
Hummingbirds love them in the early morning. Bees love them all afternoon.
They die off every winter and I have to cut the dry dangling sticks that remain.
Anyway, that's the extent of my plant chat. Hope you enjoyed it.

That would be the aptly named Trumpet Vine, I'm fairly sure. I call it the SOB plant.

You can't get rid of it; I guess people planted it to cover fences, but it spreads and sends underground runners that will pop up many feet away from the main plants. We cleared our back fence a couple years ago and we're still fighting the runners. It doesn't help that the neighbors behind us don't seem to mind it. We can only clear it at the point that it touches our fence, and I swear it grows a foot overnight.

Heh, a few years ago one of the baseball moms thought it was pretty and cut a bit to try to grow in her yard. I wonder how she's liking it now?

A little story you ladies might giggle at...

So I'm in the bathroom putting on some hair color when husband walks in from his out of town trip. He says, "What are you doing?"

"Covering up my gray hair."

"But you don't have any gray hair."

"HELLOOOOOOO!"

Nothing like logic to make a cute romantic line sound contradictory.

Hey Carl, I will definitely be hunting these fresh mozza. balls down, (like Lisa and her McVities !)
There is an Italian grocery store in town.....I'll check there.
My introduction to Calabrese salad was last spring, in Prague, (we were over there for a hockey tournament), and I do think the cheese used was bigger and softer- it was soooo good!

Hey Wes,
It has taken me three days to figure out how to post a pic off the net...but here goes...
There is a Killaloe in Ontario, about a 4 hour drive from my place; I'm pretty sure the fishing is great, so if Ireland's Killaloe is too boring for your parents, maybe they would like the Ontario version- there would even be bears wandering into the yard....that might keep life interesting....
