Sounds good to me. It's fun to share wine with folks that know what they having and truly appreciate it.
Speaking of, anyone know of a good place to get Profile from Merryvale? I love that stuff.

In keeping with the Clos du Val theme that surfaced as of late, I thought I'd join in. This is a bottle of the 1997 Napa Vally Cab just pulled from 54 degrees, after sleeping for the last 19 years! Couple cool things about it..

It was given to me in 2001 as a gift of winery owner, and close friend Bernard Portet. We do a lot of trading of my families Pinot Noir for there Cab. He is also one of the original winemakers that did damage to the French in the infamous Paris blind tastings.

Secondly, It's going to be interesting to see how it's held up for the last 19 years. This is the last bottle of the case lot I was given. I drank a bottle last year, and it was still hangin in there, but definitley fading. I hope it's still drinking nice. I'm opening it tonight, and pairing it with grilled lamb. Il keep ya posted...this is a "roll of the dice" as we say here in Vegas

Trace- Awesome that you can trade with other vineyards! I hope that bottle still has some good characteristics of what it was it its peak! Enjoy and looking forward to the review/update.

Another RED Blend review... Michael David Winery Petite Petit 2013

Picked this up for around $19 a bottle at Costco. Was very surprised how good it tastes and has some nice reviews.

WE|92 ~ WW|91 ~ RP|90

Winemaker's Notes

A brilliant blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot, this opaque purple-colored wine exhibits gorgeous aromas of camphor, blueberries, blackberries, licorice, toast and subtle background smoke.

Blend: 85% Petite Sirah, 15% Petit Verdot

So I just popped this 97 Clo du Val...I was a little concerned about its longevity. This cork definitlely did its job, and the wine is beautiful! 1997s still continue to shine as the "stellar" vintage...

I just searched out of curiosity and that came up. I didn't even look at sellers feedback.

Good luck

Love the Petite Petit - great full bodied steak wine.

Sure did. It had seepage about halfway up the cork. It just snapped in half/crumbled. The cork did its job though! Lucky it had already broke lose, and it wasn't to difficult after retapping it.

It's like playing OPERATION lol

So someone from my hometown invented this:

https://thedurand.com/product/the-durand/

But being a cheap SOB I refused to purchase it, but for old corks I use a waiter's key with a really shallow top AND a two-pronged cork puller at the same time basically copying the functionality of the $125 DURAND for about 13 bucks. Works like a charm. Pulled a 50-year-old Bordeaux and a 30 year Barolo with this combo recently and had zero issues.

Thanks for the heads up Marc. I don't even know if I'd have the guts to pull a 50 year old cork
