Well, yesterday at the horse show, all the little ponies were showing... they had names like peaches'n'cream...Buttermilk...Strawberry Shortcake...Oreo Cookie....I could try to lure them into the coffeeshop this morning......

Seriously though, I would never eat horse ! I just don't know why so many ponies have food names...
(my pony would be called Muffin Top, - kinda trying to fit in and make a statement at the same time!

Good morning Carl!
I think Petuty may be slang Quebecois....there is a big french speaking community up near Sioux St. Marie , Ontario- ever hear of Blind River? , they probably don't speak "pure" quebecois....
Anyway, Mr. Coffeeshop Boss, you might need to start an "Assistant Coffeeshop Manager Needed" thread and start interviewing..

Hey Wes, it sounds as if you love your house and you are tolerating your job...maybe a career change is "barking up the wrong tree"? Maybe you need to search out something else to fill in the spaces? i.e.- would you teach piano lessons?- make some $ while being around something you love doing?
Just a thought, (after a night of binging on that smirnoff stuff..)

Whew. Kind of a long haul. But as he was fond of saying, the years were going to pass no matter what he did during that time, so he figured he might as well go for it.

Your right Michelle, horse meat doesn't sound to appetizing.

You got any eggs, how about french toast?

Oh, and don't forget the beer.

I know Sioux St. Marie but I've never been there, I must admit I only know the name but I'd be curious to hear what kind of Québécois they speak over there (even in the province the language will have several differences depending on where you're going).

It was kind of a "go for broke" mentality, I guess, Michelle. I was game for the adventure. Luckily we didn't have any kids until nearly the end of his schooling, and I worked full time (plus a weekend job) until my first kiddo was born. P was born during his 4th year of school, and J was born as his final year of residency was starting. I was getting so danged old we figured we'd better get started, poor or not. Then V came along in some strange twist of fate a few years later for which there is no explanation.

Your horse names remind me of my kids' toy My Little Pony collection - they have the same kind of names.

Hey, guys - did Raf throw you out of the bar? Pull up a chair. No, actually, I think we have a few of those comfy leather club chairs. Yes, that's right.

I remember the surgeries Dave had - 7 in all, including some skin and tissue grafts. For a while it was feared he would lose a few fingers. But it seems for his tendon they were able to go in and pull it back into place - I guess it behaves something like a snapped rubber band.

Can you tell that your injured finger affects your playing much? Do you have equal strength in that one?
It's difficult to say how much it affects playing, when I was younger it never bothered me at all, and never thought about it. But as I tried to push my playing a little bit recently, I think it limits the speed and level of technical difficulty I can achieve.

Hey Dan- glad to hear your meat preferences don't include equine
On a serious note, horse slaughter is a big thing in Ontario, (I know its illegal in many states); the meat gets shipped over to Eastern Europe mostly.
About the french toast- Carl "the Boss" has to cover that order! I only do grilled cheese!

Oh my, if they get "cooked" they're still discernible as to what they are?
