I have an idea. We should do some wine trading with rare hard to find wines depending on your area. Does anyone think that would be fun or does it go against any forum rules?

Since it's against the law for a good portion of our states it would go against the rules of this forum. The liability and issues for the mods alone would make it a huge issue. There are other avenues for wine and liquor trading without involving a watch forum. JMHO

Good thinking, but some states it's against the law. And then there's packing in styrofoam, and the carrier company might have issues with knowing what's being shipped. And the weather, here at least I can only have wine shipped to me 5 months out of the year cause it's so hot. Also if you recieved a corked bottle from me it might get messy between the 2 parties. What's value in a wine to me might not be the same as what you put on it.

Good call on the Kosta Browne. Got my hands on a bottle of the 2011 Santa Lucia Highlands a couple years ago, good stuff.

Thanks all.

The SO Napa was excellent - smokey caramel on the nose, soft tannins, and still some dark cherry and chocolate in the mouth. Last bottle of it in the cellar and glad to see it held up that long. Have some 97 Alexander and Napa SOs for next year too.

11th anniversary, but 16 years together - still the wine outdates that.

The 1997 Alexander Silver Oak was the best bottle of red I ever drank. I think it was in 2002 that we opened it at the office around 10pm.

You should probably drink it soon

Probably right. We have 2 each of the Napa/Alexander Valley cabs left in the cellar.

Funny how they rate wine. I would've given that a better score. Much better

Yeah those are Cellar Tracker "user" ratings. I don't pay much attention to those but do read the tasting notes.
