It could be very beneficial given that a lot of us are from different states / have access to different bottles. For example, I live in Ohio so finding Weller antique is a weekly thing - it’s unfortunate they just raised price to $50....

Not sure if you all have tried it, but Orphan Barrels Rhetoric 25 has quickly become my favorite bourbon. Actually ended up buying 4 bottles because I loved it so much. If you can get your hands on it, I strongly suggest it

Was just about to post a comment when I saw yours. I had created a FB group when we first started mentioning it so not sure if you already created one. We can use the one I created and you can help me manage/run it or not use it at all, let me know

The purpose of the group will be to help people acquire, buy, sell, trade desired whiskeys.

Both of you should go easy on advertising this, it's technically illegal and because of that it's really close to violating the "Controversial Topics" rules governing TRF.

I have no problem with talking about and providing info on whiskey, I'm a frequent flier myself. However if you are already involved in FB groups where buying and selling are happening then you know a number of the larger groups have recently been shut down and slowly but surely they starting to come after the smaller groups too. It's against the law to ship booze across state-lines and it's illegal to ship booze without a licenses in most states.

I'm not trying to be a NARC but lets try and keep TRF out of it, no reason to put this group in harms way for a few members who want to ignore the laws.

Hey Marc, you actually bring up some good points thank you for that Apologies to the mods/admins and TRF, didn't mean to cross any lines or cause any potential issues for TRF just a fellow member who loves their whiskey

With that being said, apparently it would have been a no go either way. Funny enough I set up the FB group last week and it was completely empty, no members, posts, pics nothing besides the name (which had whiskey in it). Well apparently FB police didn't like something about it cuz late last night I receive an email saying my group was banned due to violation of FB policies. What policy did it violate? I have no idea, the email wasn't specific and I didn't have time or the will to go back and fourth with FB so that's out

I've picked up a few good bottles lately. My local store is really hooking me up, and he says he's working to try and get me an Eagle Rare 17 before I deploy in January. We'll see.... Probably won't happen, but how great would it be if he did!?!?

In the last two weeks, I've picked up:
- Knob Creek 25th Anniversary
- Garrison Bro's Small Batch (backup bottle)
- Yellowstone Reserve 101 (2019 edition)
- Weller 12 Year (only two bottles in my region this year; don't know why we don't get it)
- Baker's 7 Single Barrel (grabbed 2 bottles)
- 1792 Full Proof
- 1792 12 Year
- Russel's Reserve store pick that was absolutely delicious and unique, pretty far off profile but really good

He's working on getting me a Baker's 13 limited bottle, as well as Kentucky Owl Rye Batch 3, Kentucky Owl Bourbon Batch 9, and the Little Book Chapter 3. Our region is a dry hole for some of this stuff, as most of the good booze gets sucked up in Las Vegas. We can't even get Weller Antique!!!!

I’m hosting a little tasting tonight for a bunch of friends, and these three Baker’s 7 107 bottles are on tap:
- the “Dusty Baker” from 1993
- Small Batch 107 from 2018
- new Single Barrel 8 year

Should be a fun one highlighting one of the lesser appreciated bottles from Jim Beam. I actually found Baker’s back in 2007 and it has been one of my favorite bottles since then. I don’t think I’ve ever gone without having one on hand.

Now I just need to stock up on the small batch before it’s gone...
