I don't know. I'm just glad we have them, and can follow their adventures on the back of the box in the morning. Boy the things they get up to.

I don't know much about WW, but if the system lets you eat normal food, like Ed's breakie here, thats a !
Blueberries and cottage cheese and unroasted nuts- walnuts especially, are staples in my daily diet;
Nuts, although high in calories, are great because they are a healthy fat source and they "crunch"- which in my books makes them a great alternative to my bready-carby cravings....which I'm getting a lot of these days...thanks to the coffeeshop gab!

I think Sink's Coco should don a superhero cape and help out poor Coco the monkey and crew!

I actually found an online petition to bring coco rice krispies back to Canada.

Maybe cereal market research in the UK has shown that us Brits are immature dimwits and are swayed by whimsical cartoon characters on the box.

Right, Coco Pops for dinner maybe.

I don't have that problem...however I do happen to spill the whole content of my bowl on, let's say, my keyboard!

When I was on my hardcore diet I would have a bowl of applesauce for breakfast, I then moved to peanut butter toasts!

Good luck with the 15 pounds Ed, I'm sure you'll lost them in no time (or at least much faster than me!).

P.S.: The only time I tried raw fish, I got sick as a dog...I think I'll pass on this time!

Piffle!

By the way, I love a good cartoon. My girls are nuts for My Little Pony and Adventure Time on TV... and I'm not ashamed to admit they're fun to watch!

So, what was for dinner? We had leftover burnt pizza.

That pizza didn't look burnt to me, not by my standards anyway. I would of eaten the lot.

My parents are over and staying wth me, so been eating like a king. We had a homemade shepards pie.

When they go back, I'll be back to Domino's pizza takeaway or coco pops for dinner.

Wes, have you ever had strawberry pops cereal? Basically the strawberry version of coco pops.

We grew up eating it in SA and my husband loves that cereal! Whenever we've gone back for visits he's crammed a box or two in our cases to bring back. Such a shame it's not available here.....

Is this them? No we don't have them. Gutted. The best bit about coco pops is when they turn the milk chocolatey and you drink the milk at the end. I always put extra milk in.

The strawberry ones look awesome.

What is that guy on the box? A penguin? A seal? Whatever he is, he's cute. Glad he's not careening over a cliff, all terrified, like the Coco Pops gang.

cereals are definitely more "advanced" in the States. i went to an american grocery store the other day with my six-year old and let him pick a cereal....he chose fruit loops with marshmallows. marshmallows!!? that was a new one to me, as fruit loops used to only come with the loops.

needless to say, he loved it. at eight euros a box (!!!), though, he'll have to make do without now that it's run out.

What kind of meat is in shepherd's pie? Lamb? I've had the version made with beef, and seems like it's a beef stew with mashed potatoes spread over the top. There was an unusual spice in it, as well... nutmeg, maybe?

Wow - we don't have marshmallow fruit loops here! Just the kind without marshmallows. Sounds like it would be a big hit with the kids. How does he like them?

YES!!!! That's it! They are delicious, and the same thing happens with the milk....you end up with strawberry milk at the end! My husband's face lights up when he sees these....poor thing! Maybe I'll search online for a box and surprise him!

I wouldn't call it a stew.

I buy minced beef, lamb would be just as good. Get the spuds on. Diced carrots separate,(peas maybe) Once meat is browned(drain juice), chopped onions in with it. The secret is to get a shepards pie powdered mix. That in with the meat with water(Dries out in the oven). All in big pot, mash on top, grated cheese, in the oven.

Prep 30mins, oven 20mins. Make as much you can, because it's just as good the next day. And gravy maybe.

now i'm intrigued!

when i recently visited with family and friends in upstate NY, i thought it would be the perfect time to bring some fruit loops with marshmallows back with us (given the cost in paris), but, i couldn't find it anywhere. and, now you two haven't seen it either....the packaging it came with in paris wasn't made for export, either.

hmmmm.

EDIT: i did some internet sleuthing and found a blog post on this mysterious cereal.....

"[...] My wife picked up a box of cereal for Casey the other day that I had never tried before - Froot Loops with Marshmallows. Since Casey ate these with a vigor seen previously only in laboratory rats given food laced with cocaine, I decided I had to try some.

Now, I'm not a coffee drinker, but I'm guessing that Froot Loops with Marshmallows is the cereal equivalent of a Ristretto Espresso shot.

Or, as Janice from Friends would say, "Oh, My God!"

You might think someone used to eating Lucky Charms would not make much of a deal about a cereal with marshmallows in it. But the oats in Lucky Charms are what they call "lightly frosted" while if you've ever had Froot Loops, you know full well that they are, to make up a phrase, "heavily frosted".

To my surprise, the sugar content in Froot Lopps with Marshmallows was no different than regular Froot Loops. In fact, the only difference was a slight increase in sodium, so that a one-ounce bowl of the new cereal had 8% of the Guideline Daily Amount (I guess they upgraded from the old "Recommended Daily Amount") compared to 7%.

And it still had 25% or more of nine different vitamins, including Vitamin C, Riboflavin and Folic Acid.

So, if you want to get on your kids' good side, pick them up a box of Froot Loops with Marshmallows. And sneak yourself a bowl, too. You've been good - you deserve it!

YES Twining, excellent choice. I reckon you might be giving up coffee altogether after you try these.

Maybe a little review of all the varieties in the pack.

They're everywhere.... and that's not even counting the smaller "Neighborhood Markets" which are groceries only. That's where I go most of the time - when I absolutely cannot avoid going to a Walmart for a certain item. If I HAVE to do the supercenter, I go to the Belle Isle one, which is actually close to my home.
