Do they make decaf chocolate? If you had a decaf espresso bean and decaf chocolate... hmm....

The only thing is, be careful about toothy grins after eating those!

I just got back from June's "half birthday" celebration at her preschool. (she's a summer birthday, so the teachers do the half thing for summer birthday kids) I was astonished to find little Henry there - the little guy whose mom died Saturday night. One look at his sad little eyes and I thought I was going to lose it. I can't imagine how his teachers felt, too. We made it though, and I got home and just lost it for a bit.... My inlaws were there, too, and we were all trying to be cheerful for June, but all so sad inside. Oh, geez.

Oh Lisa......my heart ached just reading that. A co-worker of mine passed away a few years ago. She was only 40. She had 3 small children. She and her husband had spent every penny they had adopting the three kids from one of those third world countries. Their whole life revolved around those kids. It was agony looking into their little faces every time I saw them after that. Life is so uncertain..................

It is amazing how resilient humans are, for the most part. We can live through a lot. Things may change us forever, but we press on.

So true. My sister lost her only child to cancer a month before she was going to turn four. My brother lost his twelve year old son in a car accident. Their strength over the years has kept me going through a lot of stuff that although tough at the time, was pretty insignificant compared to what they had to deal with.

i lost my grandma more than 10 years ago

it still affects me till now.

i wish i had treated her better while she was alive but i will never have the chance to make it up to her.

the lesson i learn from all this is that i dont always think that there is a tomorrow.

live for the day.

love the person you wanna love today.

if tomorrow comes - good and well.

if not, at least you had done what you wanna do today and love the person that deserves your love today.

Elaine, I believe absolutely that those we loved and lost are still with us all the time.....and that they know how we feel. Think about the kind of person your grandmother was, and about how she lived her life. Do some small kindnesses for others, and in your heart, do them in her memory. It will help to keep the best part of her alive for you, and will help to heal your heart.

Ugh, you don't wanna feel like that. It's awful!! I was trying to explain to the kiddos what caffeine is, and how it makes you feel. Their eyes got really big, and then my 7 year said "I'd like that!!".

I think kids are naturally caffeinated already!

Wow, the thought of kids and caffeine makes me chuckle for sure... Most kids seem to have only two modes, full throttle and sleeping. Caffeine and kids do not a happy mom make...

That's for when you want to be a wide-awake drunk! But if you overdo, will you have the urge to whack off your ear?

No tendencies to lop off one's ear I've done shots of it and sipped it over ice. Either way, all it does is put a big smile on my face

Is this like the old saw about how to deal with a kid who's teething. Pour a jigger of scotch while holding the child. Drink the scotch. If the first one doesn't do the trick, pour a second jigger. Drink that.

It worked for me.
