Hard choice between the two drummers.......I think I'd still go with Animal- going up in flames is an amazing accomplishment!

Indeed, it looks a bit like Ace Frehley's guitar shooting trick going wrong...

Hi Lisa - just wanted to express my condolences - sorry for your loss.

Living at home independently up til the end despite Alzheimer's is pretty amazing...it's not always the case so good for her..And I think if you'd ask many people that age they wouldn't have things any other way...

Thanks.

There are so many scenarios with Alzheimer's that could have been much worse and much more draining on her and us... as J said earlier, there is a bit of relief in knowing that things worked out the way she wanted.

Good morning all. My heartfelt condolences go out to Lisa. With two people in my immeatiate family who have had this disease, it is a blessing that her mother passed peacefully. My mom passed a year and half ago and I still feel her loss. But it gets better every day.

Just logged on to this thread and saw the posts. Please accept my sincere condolences, Lisa. I know it's tough now, but at least she went peacefully and painlessly. The fact that she was at home I'm sure was good for her. And in the long run, you'll have good memories.

Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss and wish you and your family my condolences. It's so very hard when you loose your parents and especially when she was your last remaining parent. I have lost both of my parents and it is never easy. If I can be of assistance please let me know.....sending hugs your way.....and know it is hard on your girls as well.....hugs for them as well. Take care and let me know(maybe this fall plant a flowering vine or flowering perennial in her honor so you have a reminder of her every day).....

Hi Lisa. I hope you're doing well. And I do hope you take comfort in the way your mom passed on. Although very sad, I believe passing away at one's home is a beautiful thing and would wish that for the special people in my life.

I'm in total agreement with Craig's sentiments; To pass on in one's sleep and in one's own home would be a huge blessing and something to be hoped for!

You guys are absolutely correct. We had hoped this would happen, though for selfish reasons I dreaded being the one to find her. Luckily two of her caregivers were there and that helped. They're really good ladies.

I'm doing okay, thanks.

Good morning Lisa, glad to hear you are doing OK; I think your Mom was a strong person to have the foresight to make a living will when she did; Another huge blessing is that she was able to pass on - on her own terms; She has provided a great example to us all!

Perhaps you should write to a moderator about that, nobody will have an idea unless you tell us it was an ad to sell or buy a watch.

Lisa Update

Hi all. I am happy to report that Lisa is doing well. This morning I went to her mom's memorial service and visitied with Lisa to see how she was doing. There were many very nice things said about her mom, and she sure seemed to be a special person. I know that Lisa will be back with us soon and I know that all the support she has got from her TRF friends means a lot to her.

Lisa, we are all thinking of you at the moment, and I hope the service went well. Did you get to play Ebb Tide?

Gosh, thanks everyone. I've just gotten back home and before I start dinner for the kids I wanted to check in with you guys.

Kevin, that was so nice to see you there - thanks again for coming to Mom's service. That really means a lot to me. Dave says good luck on your pilot's exam... he wants details!

Wes, I was a little surprised about how the piano music turned out - the pianist was in the next room playing, and we could barely hear her and not see her at all. I wish I'd known that would be the arrangement, because I would have asked that the piano be brought out in front of people. Strange, but I've been to other funerals that were the same way - kind of a waste when you can hardly hear the music. Oh, well. Hopefully I won't have to plan any more funerals, but if I do, I'll be sure to ask that if there's piano music, please don't hide the musician in another room!

Hey Lisa, I'm glad to hear your Mom's service went well;
Hopefully this coming week you get a chance to exhale....(I know there's still the packing the kids off to school routine) but somewhere in there, hope you find some chances to relax a bit!
Take care,
