Lovely choices for a watch for your mum, Wes. Very sweet of you. I'm partial to the AK with the pink batons. I may be mistaken, but am thinking that the lume on this watch is bi-color. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Hey Carl- Souvenirs indeed! We were heavy into the Bugs Bunny- Road Runner show as kids! My mom used to complain about the violence on this show
Hang in there with that nice but disorganized institution you are dealing with!
Keep bugging them until you get something in writing!!Good luck today

Hey Karis,
I keep meaning to mention that I went to school with another 'Karis'. You are the only the second time I have heard that name. Really cool name.

Really? That is so neat! Same spelling? I once met a gal in college with the same name, though she spelled it 'Charis' I think.

Appreciate the compliment!

The only Karis I have ever encountered was in a book about Atlantis- there was a princess named Karis!
My darned auto-correct on this laptop keeps turning your name into Paris, whenever I type it!

Well in this case try to write Paris, perhaps it will correct it with the good name!

Well my first name is Westleigh. Weird hey, I have asked my parents why and they haven't given my a good reason, apart from they saw it written down somewhere.

They also say they gave me James as a middle name just in case I wanted to use that. But as a child you don't know to tell people to use that instead.

Westleigh? That's funny, I don't see much resemblance...

I tried your suggestion Carl; Alas, it did not give me Karis ;( so I still have to type Karis twice- to correct the auto-correct, but its such a pretty name, its worth it!)

Probably from some great work of English Fiction!
I like Westleigh better then Weston; My son's first bromance ,at age 5, was with a Wesley, who got a stuffed animal named after him!

I'm thinking of changing my name to "Maximus Decimus Meridius"

Now that is a name you don't mess with.

Sorry Michelle! I know how you feel....my iPad still won't accept my name when I type it...ugh, drives me nuts! I always type something like 'Kariss' and then go back to delete the last 's'!

Aww, thanks Wes! You're absolutely correct...it is Greek...however, I am not... My mom just loved the name. She was in labor and reading a magazine article (talk about some good drugs!!!) about Bianca Jagger's daughter Karis and decided that was to be my name! Geez, talk about last minute!

Except for "my" watch has a WG band...

Can anybody advise on how to use all the Daytona's fancy nobs and features?
I don't want to be laughed out of the Rolex General Topics part of TRF. so I'm asking the nice coffeeshop peeps....
I believe this should help :

Top - unscrew the crown to unlock the pusher, then push the button to start/stop the chrono

Bottom - unscrew the crown to unlock then push to reset the chrono when the watch is stopped

Screwing down locks both buttons so that water can't enter - ie don't unscrew underwater!

The middle crown sets date and time much line any other

Maybe I'll wear mind this week sometime though I'm stuck working all week :(

Well, good for you! For a gladiator, you are miles ahead in social skills! I'll bet you're the only one who would wear deodorant before a fight too!

Tell him you are actually royalty and decided it was finally time to tell him.
I've told my husband for years, that I'm CERTAIN that I'm of royal descent and he needs to treat me accordingly.

My gf likes to tell me of something similar:

A clairvoyant yogi once told my gf that she was once a rich and powerful, maybe a princess, maybe just an affluent beauty, and she abused her power and was reincarnated pay off her karmic debt - apparently dating me is part of that.

Since hearing she has gradually become convinced that once she was a rich and beautiful daughter of a powerful sultan (or sometimes it's a southern belle) and I was her personal bodyguard and servant whom she tormented mercilessly - and now she has to wash my socks. Lol.

Ur comment just reminded me lol
