Hey guys - can you all put Mixie in your prayers today? This old girl got into the garbage Friday after we’d done a bunch of prep for our party on Saturday. She ate parts of the styrofoam meat trays, possibly the absorbent pads in those trays, and there were onions, leeks, and other foods in there that aren’t good for dogs. We’ve watched her over the weekend and other than a little less appetite, she’s been fine. This morning she’s moving carefully and is very sensitive to being touched. We’re assuming bowel obstruction. She has a vet appt in 4 hours.

Thanks guys. Just got off the phone with an old friend who's a retired Vet. He said it doesn't sound like a bowel obstruction since she is still having bowel movements and they are solid. Might be "garbage gut" or pancreatitis, and he said since she's drinking water and is in good spirits, he said we shouldn't be stressing out. He said they'll probably do blood work, x-ray and maybe an ultrasound to see what's going on. Our vet appointment is in 2 hrs.

That's good news. Probably upset tummy for a few days. Hopefully that's all

Mixie needs to learn the difference between food and garbage so she doesn’t have to go back to the veterinarian again! She’s getting a bland can food diet and probiotics for a few days to try to clear up the stomach issues and hopefully avoid a second more invasive vet visit.

Every classic car needs a hot girl riding shotgun. She chose well.
