Great photo Bill, looks like he's playing right wing, and having a shot from the half way line.

Good morning Coffeeshop!
Has anybody heard of Asparagus Therapy?......its supposed to be the "new" amazing warrior against cancer related issues. I've heard about it from two different people; One was an old Hungarian woman who was telling me about her husbands health rebound after doing "ah-speer-ah-goose teer-a- pee"...(well i thought she was talking about some chinese herbal concoction ) ; the second time was from my BIL- the guy who took me on my motorcycle ride- his dad was diagnosed with lung cancer about 5 years ago; he started immediately on Asparagus Therapy.... and 5 years later he still does not need chemo or any medical treatment; the small cancer spot is still there, but has not grown, and he has been feeling healthy and fit these past 5 years. So, yesterday, I found about about (yet another) acquaintance who recently got a "Big C" diagnosis, and I'm thinking life is like a minefield.....well, I've decided to be proactive- why wait until I step on a mine? I've started my own Asparagus therapy regime; there's lots of info on line, but here's my own: -1 bunch of asparagus, (or one bag frozen asparagus)- cook by steaming for 5 minutes; - pour cooked asparagus and water used from the steaming into a blender - blend until smooth; pour into a container and keep in fridge -take 4 tablespoons in the morning, and 4 tablespoons in the eve. -live long and prosper |

Thanks. He plays Back. Mostly right back but since he played the whole game he rotated to center back depending on who got subbed in. That's not the center line, though it was an astute observation. The field was lined for American football. A bit confusing for us spectators as the soccer field is wider than a football field so the sidelines went right up to the edge of the running track

Yes to the MMs and the asparagus!
Stress reduction is my favorite advice re all health matters. In whatever form it takes, and on a daily basis. I am always puzzled when I see yoga-mat-toting urbanites racing around urban sidewalks in a big hurry to be "fit" and live forever, leaving unrecognized (or not dealt with) the basic matter of living in daily chaos. And on that note, I better clean off my garden-soiled fingers. |

Good morning LISA, how are the little dunkers doing with their back-to-school routine? Is the 7th grade still boring, and is kindergarten improving? What grade is your J in?, If she is a typical "middle child" she probably does not complain...

Good morning, Michelle. You are as usual, most astute in your observations of children and schooling. My 7th grader is getting into the groove and has her volleyball games to release some of the stresses of middle school, and of being parented by people who have no idea what they're doing. J loves school and loves everyone, and was most pleased that the tooth fairy was admirin' of her newly-lost molar. V still asks dozens of times if she has to go to school tomorrow... but she's usually happy at the end of the school day and wants to tell of her new found friendships.
I'm still immersed in estate stuff and have to say, it's astonishing how complicated it can be dealing with banks and IRAs... because the banks seem to have little knowledge of family trusts, tax implications, proper paperwork and titling of documents, and so on. And part of the problem is that there were errors in the trust document prepared by my parents' lawyer. These errors can potentially cost the estate thousands of dollars in taxes. That's what I'm working my hardest to try and prevent. I've been having to locate IRS documentation myself and send it to the bank to direct them on what to do. Note to self: never let a bank handle your IRA. Turn it over to a good financial/investment adviser! Whew! Hope you're not sorry you asked! So how is YOUR day going? |

Not sorry at all! In fact it must be good to off load your frustrations, and this is definitely one of the coffeeshop's benefits to it's patrons! You will always find a friend here!
So , I hope you can find your way thru all of that estate stuff.....myself-not being a concrete linear thinker, I would be tearing my hair out!! I'm happy to hear the girls are all settling in! My boy is not quite as bored as in his first week of school, and my daughter started her 2nd year at university on Monday! She has transferred to a local school,(we have 3 universities and a community college close by!), and I think she is much happier living at home again; Last year she was in Ottawa and found homesickness to be a huge issue! So, all is right and as it should be in my world right now.... Have a happy Wednseday Lisa! |

Good morning coffeeshop,...well today I have a horse with a tummy ache on my plate, so I'm just guzzling a quick coffee then I'm off to the barn; Hopefully its nothing too complicated, because if the vet has to come out....well....cha-ching $$...
On a happier note, its my Mom's B-Day today, so I'm taking her out for a nice meal in a cute restaurant; My Dad is still in the hospital, so we are throwing a big family B-day party there, on Sunday! We are a noisy bunch- when the hospital said "yes" to the party idea...well they don't know what they are in for.... |

Morning, Michelle! I hope it's nothing serious with your horse... how can you tell it's a tummy ache?
Happy birthday to your mom! That sounds like a nice evening out for her. Hope your dad enjoys his party and that you don't get thrown out for being too disorderly! |

Glad he's doing well! I'm off soon to run some errands. Our cleaning lady is coming today - she's been off work for six weeks recovering from ankle surgery - and I will be so glad to see her work magic on our house again. I've finally got things picked up, and with all three kids in school now, there's no one to follow behind me and throw things around again.... There might be an antique shop or two that needs visiting.... |
