Nice! I also think the 13 is and will be great (same for 2012). We were just up there and had the 03 last weekend.

Enjoying a Rodney Strong Estate Vineyards Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2013 this evening. I would recommend it!

90 pts. Wine Spectator: July 31, 2015

Winemaker's Notes

Rodney Strong barrel fermented 60% of this wine and aged that portion in barrel for six months, stirring the lees every month. This method offers the wine a touch of brown spice and vanilla, while cold fermenting the remainder to maximize a fresh fruit-forward character. Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity, while on the palate your taste buds will enjoy pear, pineapple, baking spices and refreshing acidity.

Enjoy this lively Chardonnay now and over the next couple of years with pan-seared scallops, poached salmon with a caper butter sauce or grilled pesto chicken.

I just pre-ordered a case of this. If you want any order now before they raise the prices.

Order Details:

Code Item Qty Price Grand Total
josephPhelpsInsignia13-w Joseph Phelps Proprietary Red "Insignia" 2013 (Napa Valley, California) - [RP 96-100] [JS 96] [ST 95]
12
Insignia 2013 12-Pack Discount [josephPhelpsInsignia13-w]

And they were nice enough to wave the shipping charges. So out the door is <190.00

Another great year for Napa 2013

There are so many good wines available today that it's hard to make any kind of recommendation. You can buy good wines at many locations including your local drug store or grocery store. Even the "box wines" are quite good these days and are very convenient as you can drink only a glass or two and not worry about the rest going bad. My recommendation is to find a wine shop that you like and go to as many wine tastings as your wallet and time permits. For what's it's worth, my personal favorites are the California Zinfandels from Sonoma County. $25 will buy your an excellent bottle, and $50 will buy you an incredibly good wine although it's not twice as good as the $25 bottle.

I totally agree. It is a nice wine we like to drink regularly.

I have only been into wine for a little while and do not have a backlog of older wines. We seem to only hold on to a few good bottles but they are hard to not drink! I see some guys here who have great older bottles and wonder how they keep from drinking them...

Excellent. This wine proved to my wife that she COULD enjoy a white wine. Too bad it has to be $80 one.
