I really like some decal configurations on some cars….this yellow struck me odd at first, but now thinking not so much about matching the calipers, but it gives it an early era (70’s) Porsche feel. The whole package just kind of ties together in that regard….grand prix white, houndstooth, yellow stripe….all kind of scream vintage IMO

I couldn’t place why at first, but I liked the stripe from the beginning.

Now that you mention the vintage vibe it clicked in my head. That’s it it sets it apart from most other modern Porsche’s out there. IMO it’s a great way to respect and honor the heritage of the brand.

I would keep that decal/stripe. No way I would change that. It does give that car a bit of a retro look. I think it’s perfect.

Yep that’s it. Really no way for a gt3 not to look good in person lol.

Is there a more vintage looking forged wheel to get and bring it all together and go all in on the look? HRE has some cool ones, not sure about center lock though.

I can't wait to really test it out. I have thought about this. Nothing can really fill that void. But I really didn't feel comfortable in that car. Amazing car. Too much money for me. And I didn't feel comfortable driving it, and putting miles on it. And I dont like to have my cars sit. This, for me, is a much more drivable car. Suits my sensibilities much better. Thank you,

Late to the party on this thread, but contributing my 1976 911S Targa. Not my daily driver, but I put more miles on it than I probably should. Always enjoy the crossover between car lovers and watch lovers.

Seeing these I’m still kicking myself a bit. I found one almost exactly like this in northern Mexico. It had light damage on one side and the fuel tank removed and clearly hadn’t run for a while and the sun of the Mexican desert damaged everything a bit. I asked for the price and being a gringo they told me $12k. If I hadn’t gotten upset and walked away I think I could’ve had it for half and just taken my time fixing it. I wish I had done it. 78 SC Targa

Lovely car!

Thank you! I haven't introduced them yet, but if the weather is nice this weekend I think they will get to know each other. I am lucky to have some great windy back roads about 10 minutes from our house - if my wife wakes up on Sundays and I am not there, she knows where I am!

Progress? It been about two weeks, and at the rate your guys were going with the footers poured I'm guessing they got her closed up already?
Unless... as we all know with construction there was a snag lol.
Hopefully not

You are right… The snag has been the weather. I didn’t post any more pictures because there wasn’t a whole lot of progress since the last time. Just some partial walls…

Such a beauty man congrats!! I’m sure you can’t wait to get it back from service and cut it loose! Do I dare ask what an annual service costs on one or is it better to just not think about it? Lol

Thanks Seth, the only car that I do not want to get rid of! Funny enough, when I got her two years ago, I was not in love with its styling entirely, but I grew to love her and accept the nuances of the design...front engine design for a Ferrari was always lower on my wish list, but the whole package now is perfect for me.

Hey Steve, all new Ferrari come with a 7 years maintenance included. Meaning, all oil changes, filter changes, fluid checks and top ups are included. The warranty is a three year bumper to bumper with the option of adding two extra years. Then, as long as the car is serviced with Ferrari once a year, you can add an extended warranty up to 15 years! This is a great piece of mind, though not cheap....but hey, its the "Ferrari Tax" you are subject to with these cars.

To give you an idea, I did add the extra two years of bumper to bumper warranty and it cost me 21K Canadian, I think it was about 16K USD for the V12. Yes its pricey, but so are any warranty claims.

Very cool I had no idea! Seems like a worthy investment given the potential for an astronomical bill if out of warranty. Anyways beautiful car!! Have you lined it up against your wifey’s Durango yet? Bet it wouldn’t be as bad of a beating as many might think.

Mini update on project diablo. Finally had the time to install the exhaust, much prefer the Tubi dual angled out that looks very much OEM. The tubi cats aren't loud enough, will put the old catless xpipe on when I get a moment. Also had to replace the master cylinder, all new rotors, pads and lines. Now have a hydraulic leak in the shocks that need to be rebuilt and new bushings for the suspension. It never ends. Next project will be a much needed reconditioning of the seats.

Also digging through the car, I found this plaque from the old owner which indicates this is the only white on white roadster ever made. Certainly a nice surprise.
