The thought is also crossing my mind. I was leaning towards a Daytona but AP's are screaming to me.

14 months to go

I think that was my Nikon DSLR (D7000 or D300) with a AF-S 50/1.4 lens, shot wide open at f/1.4. Love that lens!

How do you like this watch...does it sit real high on the wrist with the thick case?

Does it scratch easily?

Heavy?

1) How do you like this watch...does it sit real high on the wrist with the thick case?

It is "only" 13.75mm thick but as it is a true diver the case back is somewhat thicker than a ROO chrono but not as high. How it sits depends on the shape and size of your wrist. It is by no means an "anonymous" watch, the shape of the case exposes a lot of metal and the rubber strap more wide that other ROO straps, ergo it has a lot of precense. Some people like this, I don't. In reality my 15300 fits "better" on me.

2) Does it scratch easily? Yes, an all metal case as well as bezel will attract more signs of use than something like a DSSD. But I doubt mist ROO Divers will see that much action though.

3) Heavy? No, not really. It is substantial but by no means heavy and it is fairly well balanced.

Thanks...this will be my first AP. My first inclination was to get the 15300. I have a small wrist and like more "subtle" watches. This simple design diver caught my eye though. Probably should try both on.

Then you'll need to get a shorter strap for the ROO Diver.

I really would strongly urge you to spend a fair amount of time trying both pieces on before buying. The Diver is very a la mode/popular now and it is very easy to be carried away by all the glowing reviews and photos. It is indeed a very cool sport watch (I don't really see it as a dive/tool watch) which much more exclusive and/or rare than a Rolex Submariner or Deepsea, but having said that, the style and fit is an aquired taste IMO. And let's face it, even if you manage to get a decent discount on the Diver, $18,800 is still a lot of money for a stainless steel sport watch without complications, on a rubber strap on top of that. So do your home work first and think independantly.

I too stingy to pay that amount of money for a camera even it shoots deadly pictures.. One day I will go for a D7000.
When I go to H&M and see t shirts with $10 pricetag I still feel its a bit pricey.. But a Panda for $14-5k is a must buy. I think Im nuts..
