Just to spark a bit more discussion:

I think this is a first?

Crystal: Scratch-resistant sapphire
CYCLOPS lens (2.5 ×) over the date, double anti-reflective coating Waterproofness 100 metres (330 feet)

How's that sit with folks? For the most part, I'm happy to see it.

42 MM Great size and the watch looks great!

I am frequently banging my bezel on things and that bezel worries me. Guess I'll stick with the ceramic on my GMTIIC.

Slick, very slick. IMO, the new EXP 2 is far more pleasing than the new Sub, GMT IIC, etc.

So nice...even with the bigger size it looks like they kept the classic shape of the case. Thanks for the pics.

Man...why is it when Rolex finally abandons their outdated opinion that 40mm is big enough for anyone they do it on one of the least-recognizable Rolex models. Why oh why can't I have a 42mm SubC??? That's all I want, Rolex.

I suspect as Rolex offers a 43mm DSSD they feel it would not be necessary to enlarge the Sub as it would certainly reduce the number of DSSD sales. Presently the current diver line diversification is perfect

It is a great strategy and encouraging to see Rolex monitoring the market trends and acknowledging that only offering watches 40mm and below reduces their market share.

Again kudos to Rolex!

First of all...thank you so much for the HD photo's and the information Larry

I don't think there's anything I really dislike about this model. Is it called an EXP 2 or EXP 3?

Thank goodness that they have increased the size by 2mm. 40mm is just a tad too small and 42mm is right on the money IMO.

If I was getting another Rolex it would have to be with this beautiful white dial model. I love the way the indices have black surrounds making the dial a better read than if they were surrounded by WG.

My only criticisms is the 24 hr hand. Not so much the shape, but the color and the bezel numbers which appear not to be very indented and may get the paint shipped out as they did in the previous model. I may be wrong on this part, but all in all a great improvement. I expect there will be the usual price jump due to supply/demand etc.

Steve

OMG! I usually try to wait for a one year cool down period; however, for this watch I am going to make an exception.

Finally 42mm diameter; the fat fat hands...... it is just stunning ...simply stunning.
