Heads up...

ShawnCivic is emailling pix of "his" watches for sale to buyers on other forums , including a pic of my Sub with the clear case back. If you're interested in buying "his" TT Sub with the clear case back, photographed on a green carpet, I can assure you it's not for sale at this time.

Yep, it is. Looks like I'm going to have to figure out how to watermark all my pix from now on.

If he links to your image on photobucket...change your image...leave the same name.

Not sure what you mean, Steve. Could you explain that to a not really computer savvy guy?

Let me take a stab at this (hope I get it right).

If you change the image, and left the name the same, if he is using your photobucket link blindly, he could be in a nasty surprise and you can have fun with it too!

That's a fun trick. I did that to a guy named Spankdoggie on a golf board and made him look like a giant d*&$#@.

And if he has any brains at all (even half a brain) he would have copied the pic and put it in his own account. Then he could link to his "own" picture.

Watermarking may be the best solution. Basically just put your name across the pic even though it may obscure the image.

This reminds me of a guy who tried to sell me a $750 Ohlins rear shock for a Honda 1000rr over 2 years ago.. turns out, he "sold" it to 4 other forum members. I received a FedEx envelope with an Ohlins sticker in it. Paypal didn't pay the claim, because he sent "something" (all he's required to do apparently).

Tracked him down (using his screen name) to a forum he frequented in hollywood, CA... a local bike club. Turns out, everyone knew who he was, he attended meets, etc and after I posted up what happened, people started giving him the cold shoulder, he was turned away from events, etc. After that word got out, he couldn't buy or sell anything on eBay or another bike forum again. (we had his real name, people he worked for, people he worked with, other dealers he bought from, etc..) I shut that MF down.. lol

The thread at Hollywoodbikenight is over 1000 replies long...
but this sums it up:
