Had the gmt2-c and now sub-c. Love the all brushed bracelet of the sub, perfect tool watch.

I understand why people like PCLs, and also why people find them difficult to maintain. For me, I find them too 'blingy.' I much prefer low-key subtlety where possible, but to each their own.

Personally, I love the PCLs and Mike's Blue Sub is the perfect example of why.
That said, I've seen some nicely done brushed GMTs but I'm sorry to say that IMHO the Daytona above just looks plain wrong. |

Did not like them on my GMT IIC, but I would not have the bracelet brushed during the warranty period.

Not keen on PCL's.
In particular, I wish the 116200 Oyster bracelet didn't have them... |

I like them then I hate them then I like then I hate them ... you get the picture
Overall, I really do love my GMT IIC. It is the one I like the most out of all the "modern" Rolex sport watches (by far). But I go back & forth all the time on getting the PCLs brushed. Right now leaning towards doing it. IMO Rolex should provide buyers with a bracelet option up front. PCLs or brushed just like oyster or jubilee on DJs I see a lot of comments about how easily the PCLs scratch and honestly I think that is overblown. Unless you wear your watch really hard the PCLs don't look bad over time on a stainless one. Different than a TT where the gold PCLs can look pretty worn. My GMT is 3+ years old and unless you look close you wouldn't notice. And I wear it all the time. In the end it is about bling versus no bling. My biggest hang-up is how much the PCLs catch artificial light and really bring attention to the watch. They reflect a lot and that is a bigger issue for me at times than if they get a few scratches. Especially when I am used to the traditional brushed look of my 16710. To borrow a phrase from another TRFer - the modern sports Rolex line-up has gone from "Tool to Jewel". |

The polished links on my Omega Seamaster just bothered me too much. I loved that watch, but felt the polished links made it too dressy for everyday use, but it was not dressy enough for a suit. It was right in between. The Planet Ocean with the fully-brushed bracelet was amazing, though. I've seen brushed bracelets on SMPs, and they look great.
I have owned the Sub, Pelagos, and now the Explorer II because I love the brushed bracelets in khakis at work, or jeans at home. |

I like the PCLs. Scratches don't bother me. Watches are meant to be worn. You will never own a watch that you will not scratch. It's no good unless you use them! I specifically got a GMT over the Sub because I liked the PCLs

Ode to PCL
I do not like PCLs!
I do not like them, no ma'am. You do not like them. So you say. Try them! Try them! And you may. Try them and you may, I say. If you will let me be, I will try them. You will see.Say! I like PCLs on me! I do! I like them perfectly! And I would dive with it in a boat. And I would wear it crossing a moat… And I will wear it in the rain. And in the dark. And on a train. And in a car. And in a tree. They are so good, so good, you see! So I will leave it be, out of the box. And I will leave it for all to gawk. And I will wear it around my home. And I will wear it wherever I should roam. And I will proudly show it here and there. Say! I will wear it EVERYWHERE! I do so like PCLs! Thank you! Thank you, Now I see! |

I like them, I just don't like that they scratch easily especially gold PCLs. With that said, I'm not planning on selling my Daytona or my DJ2.

I like them. But sometimes Brushed would be nice.
Would an AD sell just a brushed Glidelock Bracelet? So you could switch them out? |

Had my GMT 2 C for about 3 months (bought new). I've just been looking at the PCLs and there are plenty of hairline scratches especially on the clasp. It is my daily wearer and will continue to be so.
I like the PCLs and will never polish. I'll leave that to the experts when service time eventually arrives. Great watch and the next may well be a SS Daytona.........more PCLs. |

As others have said I like PCL's on two-tone or all gold watches, do not care for them on SS! All sports models in SS should have 100% brushed bracelets IMHO.

I like the looks of PCL's but don't own any because I would go nuts trying to keep the center links from getting all scratched up!

PCLs a natural on the Smurf. Im a fan of brushing the SS. My AD couldn't or wouldn't brush my Daytona last week for fear of the Rolex police watching. Have others used a jeweler up in Seattle to go satin?
