That is not true. The new 44mm models (caliber 3126) use AP 's 3120 as a base caliber but still have a Dubois-Depraz chronograph module attached.

I cannot say I agree with you. The AP website doesn't even show a picture of the correct movement that's inside the 44mm..

I would need a couple others to back you up on that info before I would agree.

It is my understanding that the use of Dubois-Depraz modules have been suspended and not used on the new 44mm line up's.

Andrés is correct on this one..However AP is in the finishing phase of a complete in-house chrono movement.

Maybe i'm in the minority, but, I don't ever see why a Patek stainless steel CHRONO is considered a grail?!?! Nothing grail like about it, and in fact, the finishings were subpar to many others i've seen in a similar price range.

i think it's crazily overpriced,

It's very strange! But I don't really think the poll is accurate as most of the respondents who said they would buy Patek in answer to your question actually went with AP when it was their own money at stake.

Both watches look fantastic. Personally, I will try my best keeping the AP and save up for the Patek. You lose thousands selling a really nice watch and then have to fork another $$$$ to get the Nautilus. They look like a perfect pairing!

changing AP RG to Patek is NOT A GOOD IDEA.

you have real gold case on AP, why you should change into stainless steel with the name PATEK?

gold trade to stainless steel is like trade 100$ to 10$.

perhaps, not this extreme because they are also selling the brand PATEK and their classic model.

even with the name patek on great quality movement, no mater what you argue its still stainless steel.

gold has better charisma than steel.

Keep the AP.

I say it's better to just buy a solid block of gold.
Better if it is polished gold.

Wear it around ur neck proudly and maybe decorate it with some cubic zirconias.

Given the difficulty of finding one at all, I think you might be able to get more than that. A lot of people advertising this watch do not have it in stock, some want your money and they'll find it for you, some will take your money and give you the next one in (2 months? 4 months? They don't know the answer.)

One that's 3 months old in mint condition with box and papers I think will stand up well just for the next me that comes along. I seriously would have bought yours.

A couple of used older style ones I was looking at also sold over a period of days.

Lastly some places are asking well over MSRP for these still in some locations.

my how things have changed..

PP is timeless and more collectable, but that shouldn't be a reason to buy it. The AP sings to me way more than the PP.

still going to keep the AP and save up a bit for the patek to own in the future. I would like to own both.

at the end of the day I really do love the AP.

Just mixed feelings since the AP price decrease, I was alittle turned off, but I want to give it time and see where AP is taking this "new" approach.

the watch itself is amazing. so I just have to keep that in mind.

If I ever do decide to sell it, I will list it here on TRF. thanks all

Whatever it is you're one lucky guy to be choosing between two wonderful timepieces.

ps. I must say, this pic does the RG no justice as it will look much sweeter than the FC!
