LOL... The World's Most Expensive Perfume.
I should compete, with a new perfume line, with this slogan. More Expensive Than The World's Most Expensive Perfume.

No one wants to smell like the locker room at the country club? And only about $10 a quart:

Yes, but I shower with that stuff first, then I spritz on about 20 plunges of Old Spice all over my face and body.

Oh well, I liked the Creed Royal Oud a lot, and after deciding on it, I sprayed it a few times on my neck to see how it settled on the ride home, planning to order it from Amazon for 1/2 the price later. It wasn't bad, but I really like the Creed Old Vetiver best, so I am gonna stick with that...

I'm a man of great taste and I drink a bottle of Aqua-Velva every now and again--for medicinal purposes, of course.
Do not try this at home.

I use that stuff in the summer. No razor burn at all. Plus it reminds me of my grandfather's barber shop when I was a kid

For those of you who think you smell good naturally.... you're just used to how you smell... like when one has been in the water closet for a while.

I don't really buy fancy cologne, I often use Van Gils - Frosted.
It's like €25,- for 50ml or so. |

I travel quite a lot so, needless to say, one of the inevitable consequences is a cupboard full of smelly stuff..............
But in terms of comments from the fairer sex, Attimo by Ferragamo seems to be winning ...... But, by the sound of it, I definitely need to check out Creed...... I've never even seen it at airports..... clearly too expensive for the mere humble traveller....... |

I went through them all. Basenotes is a good place to research fragrances. I've had far too many blind buys in the past and recommend trying before buying.
Aventus is very good. Anything by Tom Ford is very good. Aqua Di Gio is good. Cool Water is like Creed GIT and good. Rochas Man is okay and made by the same guy who makes Musc Ravageur. Hermes makes good fragrances. HM is good but too much lemon. |

I'm wearing Hanae Mori today. Smells good. I've had a bottle of this for three years and its 95% full. I'll wear this more often.

This topic came up about a year ago, and it dawned on me that I should probably expand my humble fragrance collection a bit and see what is out there.
I, like many of my generation, graduated from good old RL Polo in high school to L'Eau d' Issey. I had another that I wore frequently, a nice marine scent, but I cannot remember what it was. For the last 10-15 years I've been stuck on Hermes l'Eau d'Orange Vert, which is absolutely magnificent but sadly very, very short lived, and Hermes Rocabar, which has a nice gingery spicy vibe and is heavier and longer lived on my skin. For months I would wander into one of the high end department stores sampling a few at a time, slowly trying different designer and niche scents, then 2 things happened. I found Basenotes and fragrantica, which are websites with thousands of reviews and notes on pretty much everything out there, and discovered that there are reputable decant shops which will sell you reasonably priced samples of hundreds of fragrances. So for around two hundred dollars, the price of a nice bottle of cologne, you can sample dozens of expensive colognes from the best noses in the business and really get to know what they're about over several wearings. There are also a number of good you tube video reviewers who regularly post reviews of fragrances. I like some of what Creed has to offer, particularly Green Irish Tweed, but many of their fragrances use ambergris in the base notes, which is fine until it's other more short lived notes fade, leaving what I perceive as a stale note on my skin. I really liked Bois du Portugal for example, but I can't stand the stale smell on my skin around 8 hours later, though I expect that it doesn't project at all at that point.
