Coming from someone that grew up in LA and works with celebrities from around the world, I can honestly care less what they do, the watches they wear, etc. Wear what you love and enjoy it -- that's all that matters.
I personally am not a big fan of solid gold watches and usually wear my 116613 on a daily basis. I think, in many situations, it gives off the wrong impression, especially when it comes to business. I would be more worried about that. Just my $.02 |

I used to wear a TT Black sub and I once shook hands with Ellie May from the Beverly Hillbillies. Does that count?

I have never owned a TT Black Sub, has never been on my radar but as said, I do not plan my acquisitions based on what celebrities wear.

I like two tone GMT's with nipple dials but no other two tones. I guess it's inherently a two-tone kind of watch, whatever those two tones might be. Do Rolex call them nipple dials?
BTW what's wrong with talking about what celebrities wear. If Sean Connery hadn't worn a Sub as 007 then I doubt even 50% as many would have been sold over the years. |

I think the OP got treated a little roughly here. There are dozens of posts on this forum about the popularity of one model over another. I don't really care what celebrities wear but it is interesting to see sometimes what people end up wearing who aren't constrained by resources just to gain a different perspective. And with all the noise on here about Sean Connery and Paul Newman I must not be alone in that.

I have all gold, two tone, and stainless, but I'm not a celeb. I like two tone best of all because it goes with everything. So the theory that people who buy two tone can not afford gold, is not always accurate.

I agree with you~ But actually I also like some of the Datejust II 2 tones and even some of the Turn-O-Graph rose gold 2 tones... Awe heck I just like mostly all Rolexes~ Two tone, Single tone each model has it's own charisma! Afterall they're Rolexes!

wow not sure how so many people here interpreted the OP as wanting to copy a famous person's style
he was just asking why they do not wear certain models

This thread rocks on so many levels its ridiculous! A few days back I saw a thread from a guy about being a "serial flipper" because he had gone through like 27 Rolex watches in a few years. He then provided a list of them and they were all SS except a few TT. One of the responses was that "Gees, with all those trades, you could have owned like 5 all Gold Rolex.
I found that funny....'cause I'm sure with what many if us have spent on Rolex watches over the year, we could have owned at least 5 Gold Rolex, prolly more! Which wld be a valid point if I had any interest in a Gold Rolex! I will say I like white gold Pepsi and the Platona though...but not the one w/ Diamonds. Also, it's hilarious that Adam is taking heat for not liking all Gold watches (because he has taste)....yet nobody even said a word about the guy whom pretty much suggested the Bieb's should hang himself! Which was in extremely poor taste! |

i was just thinking that this thread is kind of ironic. one one hand, tons of posts of "what should i get" on the other, "i only wear what i like, not what other people like". all in all, this is a super friendly place with lots of great people. but there sure are a few hot button topics that get people all sorts of riled up. and really, there are tons of celebrity endorsements from all sorts of vendors....why? because celebrities sell just about everything...just by being seen in them...

Yeah Seth, it's always intriguing which threads will get people super responsive or riled up. Either way, this thread has been nothing less than entertaining!

Jakes Rolex World has hundreds of pictures of famous people (athletes, actors, actresses, business people, etc.) and the Rolexes they wear. Google it. I noticed that a lot of women who wear men's Rolexes choose the Daytona, especially supermodels.
