I would like the black more if changed to contrasting subdial, rather than keep the silver subdial from the 116520.
Poll seems to agree. |

Me too. For some reason, my eyes just don't like the black around it. I WAS WAITING FOR THIS DAY, but it isn't what I expected for some reason. Hopefully prices on the older ones might drop so I can own one of each lol
The new ones are still very nice for me, I'm just not so in love I'm going to run off. I'll have to see one in the flesh maybe. |

I typically prefer black dials, but I think in this case white.

Side by side
Would love to see an old white dial side by side with the new ceramic white dial. Anyone PS that for us here?

I have a white 116520, so if I were to get a cerachrom one I'd go with black.

Both are great, but the white has my vote.
I'm not sure they are "better" than the 116520, but they are definitely sportier, whereas the 116520 is more elegant in my eyes. I think it depends what look you want. A good excuse to own both the old and new Daytona |

Black and White is a throw back to the early 80's ones I like so much.
Are the new bezels interchangeable with the current Daytona model? |

Damnit, I got a black 16520 last month...I thought I had quelled my Daytona bug but it is back with a vengeance. I've always been a big fan of the black dialed model, but I think Rolex nailed the white dial this time around. I agree with others, that the current black dialed model would look better with Zenith style white subdials. You've really outdone yourself this year Rolex...

As others have stated, the ceramic bezel makes the new SS Daytona look much sportier. My current white dial looks very dressy, especially with my standard white French cuff dress shirt. I put my name on the list...black or white...love them both! I am a little surprised at just how lopsided the poll is favoring white. I guess that retro panda look is a hit! Maybe also too much black on the dark dial version.

The new White Daytona is just spectacular in my opinion. Looking forward to making this my next piece.

It would be if it was offered! Solid sub-dials are panda; these are just rings on the sub-dials, not panda.
White dial with black rings is a stunner, though - I much prefer it to the silver rings on the previous white dial Daytona.

White for me. Simply more legible to my eye, though YMMV.

This is a DRASTIC change and could take some time for us Rolex-heads to get used to. We're all so used to seeing that banged up steel bezel!
White dial absolutely blows away the black dial in this new model, hands down. Black dial is just way too "one note" but could look amazing if you went full on black with a leather strap. The contrast of the reflective black face and bezel with perhaps a toned down black calf-strap could really elevate this piece. Nah, who am I kidding! White dial all the way!!!!! |

BUT.....Is it fair to say that the white is sportier and the black is dressier?
AND....Two tone models in the future???? |

I am shocked...I'm a fan of the black more in this one and put in my order as soon as I saw the report this morning. Often I like white dials and others heavily favor the black...seems I'm "backwards" on this one too.
Was glad I'm preferring the black (though you never know once I see it in person), it means I'll just hang on to the white one I currently have. |
