I agree 100%. He should get what the market will pay.

He probably had to pay at least MSRP to get it to his stock.

After doing a lot of business with DavidSW, and doing more (Incoming Memorial Day Wknd), I feel compelled to speak up as I consider him a friend as well...
Before this mornings post DavidSW was a hero here on TRF. He has saved us all fortunes on watches over the years...many years! Everybody loves being able to buy Subs, GMTs, and our wifes Xmas gifts all for big savings off ADs, and delivered to our doorsteps b4 10am the next day. He even was a sponsor at The 2016 Vegas GTG! There is nothing he would not do for the members here on this forum.
Now because of this 116500 he has people "losing respect" for him, as well as questioning his business practices.Well I say how dare you.
Do any of you realtors out there get upset when people pay 50-100k over asking that bumps your commissions? How about any of you home owners that made fortunes a few years back when people paid 3x home values, and then pulled re-fi's to buy that last watch...from David probably!?
All I'm trying to get across is I won't allow anyone to second guess David's integrity as a businessman, a father, or as a friend. He could be a model too many of us here on TRF all these subjects.

At that price you could buy two pre owned
Daytonas or two VC Overseas.

Not saying it's overpriced as the first on the gray market.
Just pointing out what I feel are better values.

It kills me to see people say "how much profit does he need?" etc... People who sell watches or anything for that matter aren't charities. Its simple supply and demand. Bernie would be proud of such statements.

I have bought at least 12-15 watches from David and he has always been amaizingly good to deal with, I have nothing but good things to say about him, we don't know how much profit he is making, we don't know how much he paid for it so it is easy to say negative things without all the facts, yes the watch is expensive, if you don't like the price, don't buy it.

Last I recall many of us believed in capitalism.

If you love socialism please move to Venezuela or the like.

Bravo David, let the free market decide price. You set a great price and when the white face arrives I know how to price it.

Trace, I am with you on this one 100%

It is important to note the Daytona went live on his site before it even popped up on TRF and allowed ANYONE to decide if the purchase was right for them or not.

If I had $22,000 to spare, that Daytona would be my first purchase from David. You have to pay to play ...

The truth is NOBODY knows what his cost was...and it's nobody's business. I guarantee he makes much more on the very high end than the entire cost of this watch.

I would never even pay MSRP... but people with huge cash are glad to pay for anything...they don't care... period.

I say good for DavidSW... no one is forced to buy this and just like anything else.... paying an extra 5 or 10k to cut in line is worth it to a lot of people.

Well Said! David is a great resource for all TRF Members. If you don't want to buy what he is offering to sell, don't. I think some people are just upset they don't have the business connections to get a watch now and they have to wait. Just a fact of life... Doesn't change my view of one of the BEST Trusted Sellers in the Watch Business and on TRF!

So offer him less and c if it sticks. I know most of us probably don't get our ask either on watchrecon. Seems high to me though. Some1 will fall for it
