That's why for me it is not so bad that there are grey dealers and AD's who sell to whom wants, you want a 5711 without any prior purchases in most countries? Almost impossible than through grey dealer, you can't buy in your country? Only way is grey or AD from another country.

Indeed. Im struggling to get on lists for 5712 / Aqua etc simply because I am not local to any watch ADs (live on a Island where there is no ADs for any watch brand). Been fobbed off several times this week by PP dealers when it came to the crunch of declaring where I lived. I have overseas ADs for certain brands who i have built relationships with however with Patek very difficult to get my foot in the door for my first purchase. If it wasnt for damn Brexit I think I would be calling DavidSW when I am in Florida in November but the pound is so damn weak.

Discounts from Patek ADs

Interesting story about AD relationships:

Recently I've been tempted to get a chronograph. Never thought I'd want one but now I do. Also, didn't want to plonk out a huge amount of $$ for a Patek chrono and thought might get a Daytona C. If the Daytona works then I will buy a PP chrono in the future.

Walked into my regular AD with whom I had already purchased a 5146 and have a 5167 on order. I had also referred a 5712 buyer to them.

As expected no Daytona C in stock, and a waiting list that's years long. However, given my purchase history with them, I'm now next in line for the Daytona C white dial.

So having a regular AD has unexpected benefits :)

Edit: having a regular AD for PP has unexpected benefits

It's the Journe Chronometre Sauvereign in Rose gold. Everyone so obsessed with Bleau they forget about this which is jaw dropping in the metal.

I went to a boutique and got no percent off my 5164. However, I did get a hat, wallet, book, gloves, couple of their old magazines, a tie, a couple cups of espresso, Bon-bons, and a free meal at the tonkatsu restaurant next door.

I saved on tax and the exchange rate was heavily in my favor, so I count that at a discount.
