In my part of England to wear such big hunks of gold such as is pictured on LuminiousMaximus` wrist and finger would be considered ostentatious and bordering on vulgar. Perhaps in California it would be more accepted if you have the personality to carry it off.

If it's not your style don't feel obligated to wear it, or even keep it, for that matter. My mom is in the estate sale business and she will occasionally offer me things that I don't care for. I used to accept them out of feeling like I didn't want to disappoint her, but now I just say no thanks. One thing I will tell everybody is that if you do want to sell it, you MUST know somebody in the business or you will get screwed. Ask around your friends, and somebody will know someone. My mom has a lady that does her jewelry and gives me top dollar when I have stuff melted down. If you go to any old gold buyer they will give you a terrible price. Diamonds are even worse because they mark them up ridiculously at retail.

Wedding band and a watch for me. I have my grandfathers school ring and a signer ring I would like to wear but I'm not a ring guy and they are to small for me.

Isn't Suffolk close to Essex where they make Californians look like Mormons?

I thinks that's the kind of ring that you wear when you don't care what anyone else thinks about what you're wearing.

Howdy,

In my part of Ohio to wear such big hunks of gold would be considered appropriate only if paired with a track suit, a John Gotti haircut, or possibly a wall clock on a gold necklace.

But, if you don't live in my part of Ohio, I offer congratulations and encourage you to wear whatever you like

Take care,

Ruddiger
