Congratulations - a great unboxing, really enjoyed reading it, thank you.

If you live in a warm climate, the glidelock is an absolute Godsend.

I have the other Sub date, you know, the one with the 'boring' black face...

Seriously though, even over here in rainy old England its surprising how many times a day I find myself extending the clasp as my wrists start to swell due to the warm weather.

Enjoy, its a beauty.

OK it looks the business but how does it feel on the wrist, is it balanced, does it irritate or ever feel uncomfortable or annoying in terms of fit?

Absolutly the most comfortable Rolex (or any watch) I have ever owned.(PERIOD) Balanced and the fit between the glide lock clasp and head of the watch is perfect on my 7" wrist. There is no better clasp made for balance and adjustability for the Submariner. I don't even have to adjust the glide lock much at all for every day wear. That's how I know the watch is perfectly sized and balanced. It disappears on the wrist.
On another observation excluding the honeymoon bliss, the LVc is the best watch purchase I have ever made and I own a lot of very nice watches. I would easily have paid even more than msrp for this watch. The watch oozes ultra premium build quality yet still feels increadbly solid and tough without being bloated or heavy.
It's style, size and presence fits my own style and personality perfectly. The green sunburst dial and green ceramic bezel contrast is the 904l steel making the steel look crisp white. Very dramatic as pics don't really show this contrast well. The brushed bracelet and clasp is soooo much easier to take care of than PCL. The Sub always looks clean even when it's not as opposed to my Rolex with PCL that must be kept immaculate to not show any finger prints or dirt. If you have a mild case of OCD, PCL will push your buttons where the brushed calms your OCD.
It wears and looks larger than my classic Bluesy and the maxi dial is much easier to read. Its gonna be tough ever taking it off to wear any of my other watches.
