OMG. Dr Tom you're a true class act. Glad the watch didn't go to through. What a dirt bag.

Tom,

If you want it to go to someone you know/establish member why don't you raffle the chance to buy to pledge members?

(Maybe with a stipulation no current or previous 116500 owners can apply to me that will help genuine members who are still trying to get one have a chance)

I like your style. I had a somewhat similar suggestion in an earlier post.

What a nice gesture. Maybe everyone give him some breathing room and let him decide what he wants to do. Very nice

Wow. This thread!!!

All I can say is that Dr Tom is 100% a mensch. A proper class act. God bless you, sir.

I am glad that the scammer did not get the watch.

This is incredible to read....

In the UK these are beyond rediculous to get hold of, however the grey market is flooded with them.

I'd love to see this watch go to someone who absolutely adores it for what it is and guarantees not to flip....it will be hard to find that person but will be worth it for the watch to go to someone who really wants it.

Argh, its that APRolex guy!

Great work Adam, and fantastic gesture Tom.

In future I recommend selling only to people with at least 36K posts, just to be extra safe.

Tom, don't let it stress you out. I'm sure this watch will find a good home and anyone here who wants it would be lucky to get it from someone like you.

Adam, what else can we say, moderator extraordinaire, supermod, thanks for taking care of this great community

To the amggts9, well I know you're gone now, but wherever you are I'm sure you'll try a stunt like this again. I only hope next time, you meet up with a guy the size of one of Dr. Tom's sons

Woke up to the world being much better today. So glad to see the transaction with amggts9 was halted. Great detective work Adam.
I was late to the PMing party yesterday because I was out yesterday but offer my sincerest congratulations to whoever becomes the lucky recipient. This watch will have a story for the ages.

What a story.

Tom is one of the best and I'm really sorry when people try to use the good guys. I'm very happy the guy didn't get the watch
and I hope the one that get it really want it and not try to make some money.

A tip to Tom, keep the certificate for 6 months and pull off the plastic before you deliver it.

Hahaha! Yes. Engrave the back! Lol. This can merge every Daytona ceramic topic into one thread!

So glad this was halted. So sorry Tom was trying to be so generous and someone wanted to take advantage. That's what is tough about these forums.
