What ever decision you took was actually best cause in the end no one wears it but you, i am a fan of the Sub No Date and this came out so clean and fits you perfectly. Congrats.

Same thing happened to me, still got the SubC ND which lead to me getting the Hulk aa a way of the AD making up for their “mistake” - though I can’t call it a mistake as it was a beautiful watch.

Personally, I think it’s the best of all the Subs.
Congratulations!

I never really considered the no date. If I walked in and the Sub Date was there then yes, I would have bought that without even considering the ND. But when I first saw the Submariner and looked at it on my wrist I actually liked the look better. I love symmetry in design so maybe that's why. Having owned both, the lack of cyclops gives the watch a more classic look. That said, the cyclops is cool in its own way too. If I pick up a 2nd Rolex it will most likely have a date. |

ND>Date. It is just so much more aesthetically beautiful due to the symmetry and classic looks. Not having a date function gets annoying but its a compromise you have to make to get that look.

Congrats! Welcome to the club. Having to remember the date gives your brain a workout, which is pretty cool. Not having to worry about AM/PM while setting your watch, now that’s very cool!

Congratulations and great choice on the 114060! Mine as well! I have two Patek’s that have date functions, but I don’t miss it at all on my Sub. The symmetry is perfect, in my opinion. Enjoy!

Sometimes fate goes in our favour! A fabulous timepiece, and as many have said, you can’t go wrong with either the Sub or Sub Date. I for one cherish my 114060.

So far a week of ownership. There's been a couple times I miss glancing at my wrist for the date but I'm trying better to memorize it. I can definitely see the utility of wanting a date especially for certain jobs where you are signing a lot of contracts or writing checks. I'm almost always next to a computer so I just glance at my monitor.
Owning the Sub for a week makes me realize how much I hated the cyclops. I remember how easily it would attract dust and smudges around the edges of the cyclops and really throws off the aesthetic of the watch. Memories came back of constantly wiping around the cyclops with my shirt. I catch myself admiring the Sub on my wrist much more than I ever did with the Sub Date. The lack of cyclops makes the watch appear marginally smaller than the Sub Date but more eye-catching and dazzling in a way. There's the appearance of more depth while looking through the unobstructed crystal. The symmetry also draws the eyes toward the centered "Rolex" and "Submariner" typeface. Ultimately, you can't go wrong with both. The Sub and Sub Date are my favorite -- classic and versatile. If you want the better looking watch, go Sub. If you need a date utility then go Sub Date |

I am new to the forum and considering getting a sub C lately, but the current state of SS shortage I will have to put my name on the waiting list. I visited the local AD yesterday and have a nice chat with the guy, he told me that the sub date have a waiting list of 70+ people while the sub ND only have a 20+ people waiting. Its relatively easier for me to get the sub ND. I put my name on both list and stumble on this thread, I think the sub ND is now growing on me. Congrats on getting the watch!

Congrats, the submariner is a great choice. It’s the perfect watch, less is sometimes more. Like others have said, trouble is I want to wear this all the time.
70% time I’m wearing the no date, with the rest of my watches share the remaining 30% Love this watch. Well done.

Great choice! Always thought I would love a Sub with a date, but not after this. I would take the clean watch face. So nice.

Beautiful. I just bought one moments ago. Should see it Monday/Tuesday. I have a 5513 from 1977, Pre Comex dial. I like the idea of the bookends. This will be the first modern Rolex I own. Cool!

Lookin good! As long as you are happy with it, that's all that matters. Sub or Sub Date, both amazing watches!
