It makes me want to eat red meat and use my power tools. The balance is fantastic and I just can’t get over how much the red line makes a difference. I will have the divers extension taken out to provide a more snug fit. Ultimately I know that this is my limit on size and I like the contrast it provides relative to my 16610. Thanks all for the feedback. This really is an awesome watch and I now get why everyone raves about it.

Great choice. It’s a beauty, and fits great. Congrats!

It’s big for your outfit but if you were wearing a short sleeve shirt it would look fine. It’s not too big for your wrist if that’s what you’re asking

I think it looks fine on your wrist. Watches fit like that now. Unlike 15 years ago.

I haven't been to this website in a long time. I looked in tonight because my watch kept stopping today. I wonder if it's due to my staying home so much instead of going to the office. I have a smaller watch (with SUBMARINER in red), but perfer yours because the markers look bigger relative to the dial. I always liked bigger markers. Do you know if they are bigger in the SD43 dial? My wrist is slightly bigger so maybe...

Wear your watch in good health.

New SD43. Thoughts on size?

Looks too big. Send it to me with a 20 percent discount and I’ll begrudgingly take it off your wrist.

All kidding aside it looks perfect on you. Welcome to the club!

Thank yor for just posting this. Again, the markers on this watch look bigger relative to the dial than on my red sub. Or is that due to the illumination? Does anyone know for sure? Or am I just looking for an excuse to by an SD43 due to total boredom?

Your red Sub is vintage, we’re in a completely new timeframe with ceramic and maxi dials my man. Where you been?

You are correct. My double red is definitely old school. I don't wear it because the band stretched too much and I worried it would break.

The watch I wear everyday is a more recent red that I bought from a seller on Rolex Forums. It has a ceramic dial (way cool because my other ones are scratched!) and the 70 hour power reserve (that keeps stopping today). When I got that watch I was so happy that didn't dare visit Rolex Forums anymore--because I knew I also wanted the SD43.

Tonight, I am visiting Rolex Forums to find out if anyone else's watch has been stopping due to lack of activity during this pandemic. I don't know how to wind the watch because I never had to do it before. The watch might need a service, but I'm reluctant to go to the Rolex service center because it's in an old building with lousy ventilation. Besides, I don't want to leave it for service wihout having another watch to wear and I no longer have watches in my sock drawer.

Thank you for your comment.

Sounds like you have a new Sea dweller just as the OP. In regards to the dial, they have remained the same, except for some slight alterations to the font. It’s definitely sounding like you may need to send in to RSC.

Thank you. You are absolutely correct. I am wrong.

I thought I bought a Submariner nicknamed "red sub" or SD42. I never looked carefully, but the word in red is not SUBMARINER, but SEADWELLER. All this time I had never really looked. I am so disappointed.

I spent the past many minutes perusing the classified section. I think the markers on the Deep Sea are the same size as the Seadweller (now that I know mine is a Seadweller). The markers look big in some pictures, but one ad under the seller Takuya shows that they look very close to mine. Seeing Takuya's photo and learning, thanks to you, that my watch is a Seadweller, I am less keen on buying an SD43.

You spared me from buying another watch I don't need. I suspect you are now in Bangkok considering the time in New York. Enjoy your afternoon!

Very attractive watch. Im not sure about wearing a big sports watch with a shirt, unless you work in Tech or some kind of gadget type field. As it seems to be de rigueur :)

Looks WONDERFUL on you! Enjoy the most handsome modern Rolex diver!

My wrist is a smaller than yours (6.7) and is my daily for 2 years now.

I agree it looks great on you. As a fellow SD43 owner, I always enjoy these threads. Ever notice that, 99.9% of the time, no TRF member actually buys a SD43 (or DSSD, for that matter) that looks "too big" on them?

He too has saved me from buying an SD43.

On the other hand, and this always happens when I visit Rolex Forums, I feel the unhealthy (for our precious environment) urge to buy a watch. Guess I will lurk a while longer.

Looks too big to me but I think style is personal preference. I’m a tall muscular guy with 7.5 inch wrist and I actually kinda like small watches like JLC Reverso and 34mm OP. That being said, I think to look contemporary I’d be best suited with a 40-44mm case, 15mm or thinner case, 50mm lug to lug or so.

Your arm seems like it would be better suited to something with a shorter lug to lug or more taper. But it’s always up to you.

When I see smaller wrist guys with a SD my first thought is that seems kinda big for them but it still looks fine. Big watches are definitely in right now.

I had a coworker years ago who was shorter and thinner and wore a huge watch and huge baggy clothes and it just looked like a kid raided his dad’s closet. Everyone noticed and commented behind their back. I think as long as you’re not “that guy” do whatcha want.
