I’d much rather buy a Seiko over this. Sorry Tudor missed it on this one. Even my non-wis other half thinks it’s hideous, but she does like the TT SD (time to leave her lol).

I want one. I figure this is the watch I would reach for in an apocalypse scenario.

I also imagine it’s the watch Immortan Joe from Mad Max would wear....

I don't give them credit for taking a risk. If I put dog sh!t on a bracelet and try to sell it, its a risk. A luxury watch company should be putting out awesome luxury goods that the masses want. Not dog crap like this thing. I don't think the Tudor name is strong enough for them to put out anything and it be a success. Of course I might be dead wrong.

There is such a thing as water-resistant leather, but the Tudor strap is rubber, topped with leather.

It should be plenty robust.

It can also be removed to accept a normal 20mm strap of your choice.

This looks like a frame grab from an old Bond movie.

Perhaps the P01 is the new Supervillan watch?

It's hideous, a Navy reject, and one of the few Basel releases that's staying with me. I'm interested.

There is a reason not all prototypes go into production. This looks like design by committee, after the committee indulged in hallucinogenics.

Aside from the hideous appearance, I think the main reason Tudor has taken so much heat on this model is because we were expecting the return of the Tudor Submariner. Expecting a Tudor Sub and then finding this in your stocking will get the torches and pitchforks out of the barn.

If you really want to buy it I’d say wait a bit because I’m quite sure they will be sitting in ADs counters with good discounts after a month or so after release. IMO it’s pretty hideous.

Just buy a Seiko SKX007 and mod it with the right bezel, hands, dial and Strapcode stuff - and you're almost there for a fraction of the price. And maybe the SKX-mod will actually look way better...

I'm in. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.

The bezel reminds me of the 1655...so hot.

It's the only bold thing released under the Rolex roof this year. It should have been released 45 years ago, fwiw. I'm not buying but I will try one on due to sizing issues and make up my mind at that time.

But apparently the end links are integral to proper bezel functioning. We'll see if this means what it's supposed to.

The Seiko aftermarket is probably making the parts now !

I hated it at first. Now I hate it less. Maybe in 6 months I will not hate it enough to buy it.

I think it’s a badass looking watch. Not necessarily a daily wear but definitely for casual situations. I probably won’t get one but still think it’s a cool looking watch

Yeah - and those parts are probably obtainable to buy before the P01.

Those lugs are a bit long, perhaps too long to enjoy different straps. I still can't figure out how the lugs and bezel lock work.

For some reason, the new P01 kinda fits into the collection to this cool guy. Best Talking Watches episode ever. Have a look at 8:21 in the video.

It just looks too much like a Glycine watch at twice the price.
