Fully agree. They can always discount. They just can't over MsRP (old or new when in effect) when selling new pieces.

I also heard that there was an increase planned in the US for 1/1/20. Models were not specified though.

This already happened earlier in the year. Wasn’t much of a jump though.

Some ADs have held back stock of steel sports in December until January because of the price increase on Wednesday 1st January 2020.

My P0-1 turned up a couple of days after the U.K. price increase and I would say that was deliberate, I’m hearing 7% for the increase

Rolex will increase there prices 7 to 10% for the upcoming three years or so. It’s the company’s strategy they want to be up there with the trinity. Tudor will replace today’s Rolex as a working mans luxury time piece.

This makes sense, the US doesent have a vat tax, so increases tend to be higher in other parts of the world where taxes are calculated in the asking price. Normally it wouldn’t be so high outside the US, but the Euro is weak right now with a lot of uncertainty.

And from what source is this specific knowledge gleaned?
An inside source at Rolex HQ?

Or is it just repeating what someone else has said on the interwebz?

No, it’s happening.
ADs have had their letters.

In the UK it’s ave of 7.4% I believe but many steel sports are nearer 10%.

100% certain and I’ve seen the new prices

I stopped by my AD on Christmas Eve and he told me “about 4%” (located in Texas).

If you only buy at the AD, then the % increase of 3% or 8% is about the same on no watches you can buy.

Now if we factor in $30k of gold/diamond jewelry (you didn’t want to buy) and the $10k SS Rolex you did want to buy, your end Rolex price increase is 3000% price increase for 2020. (someone check my math)
