I own several Breitlings and a 1949 Bubbleback. Two and a half years ago I was offered the Air King and I bought a Breitling instead. It has been one of those watches that has stuck in my head. It is a great size for my 7 1/2 wrist. It is not gaudy yet unique. It is not bland. It matches my personality.
For the last year I have been asking my AD for one and he said they are hard to get.. So whenever I visit I always say very loudly so all sales people can hear if they have any Air Kings or A Sky Dweller with blue dial and stainless bracelet. That always gets a chuckle. On Friday, I do my routine and the sales person I always deal with and trust says no. Then another comes over and says, " Are you on the list?" He pulls my sales guy in the back room and I hear them talking. Well, I now own an Air King. It is one of those watches now that seems to never hit the display case. Moral to the story is to always ask and make yourself memorable in a courteous and kind way. |

Took me well over a year to finally get the call for a new Air King.
I like the dial design and the traits it shared with the milgauss. I like how different it is. |

Thoughts on the Air King?
I like the Air King. Had it but sold last year while consolidating my collection. May add it again. Interesting busy dial with a splash of the green second hand. If the case was a bit thinner it would be perfect.
