... The part I agree is if that is the watch he wants, sure consider a trade but perhaps something that would make the deal more balanced under today's conditions (i.e. cash going your way). |

Just shows what hype does to watch persons. You have a perfect watch in Daytona SS, which is modern classic and now you are chasing vintage(not that old) classic just coz of the hype! Kermit is good watch, no doubt but not at $25K.

I guess I’m in the minority, but if the Flat 4 is complete and mint I’d trade in a heartbeat.
You can get a Daytona C black whenever. |

If I may ask an ignorant question. What is the attraction for a flat 4 Kermit versus a non flat 4?

Questions...
1) Is this a straight trade or need of cash either way? 2) Are you a collector? Will these watches be worn? Peanut Gallery: Please hold judgement on this. There are people who collect watches and don't wear them to preserve condition. Same as with comic books who don't read them..cars who dont drive them..etc. If you are indeed a collector, then move on to Question 2. If not and you want to wear the Kermit...PASS. Daytona is a better watch and you can get a non flat 4 kermit for much less to wear. Question 2: Is the Kermit unpolished with a 100% Mint and crisp set? I mean absolutely everything present and intact? Does it include the receipt? If yes and straight trade: Trade Approved. if NO: PASS. |

Flat 4 full set, box and papers cost more than a new daytona C... |

If you want to get sucked into the hype go ahead and do it. IMHO, it's like downgrading from a BMW M3 to a regular 3 series.

Someone decided many years ago that the 4 on the Kermit looked a bit fat (or flat) and all of a sudden it’s worth more to collectors! I know this happens to a lot of old watches but this isn’t a Paul Newman.
Terrible trade. Keep and enjoy the 500. |

Without knowing the purchase history and the $$’s in the trade of the Daytona this is a tough call?
AD retail in Oz or Grey? At the end of day it’s your choice of watch. These prices are now out of control. I am amazed at the current value of my old 16610LV ‘M’ and Daytona SS ‘M’.

If the OP bought his Daytona new that's a very cheap LV to him. If the OP bought grey, then not such a smart move financially
