The watch went in for a service and I specified no polishing, obviously. Picked the watch up today. Running fine. Not polished - good. But, as I walked out I had a thought. I told the person to go find my originals. Apparently they just get tossed away with all the others. Not tagged or anything.

Is this a joke? The bonkers state of the Rolex market at present. People think their watch is a Picasso painting and their retirement fund - rather than a watch which will get wear and tear and eventually need to be replaced with a new one. The quicker sanity, and the supply of watches return to normal, the better.

Whoa, don't even joke about that. You might as well just have the dang thing crushed once the original filter has been removed.

To the OP, I feel for you.. let me know the year and model of your watch and I will look, I am sure I will have a correct set. Keep in mind they won't be cheap, but consider how it will save the value of your watch. You're probably looking at $1800 or so for a correct date coded set, which is a bargain really... that is unless they are the really rare ones which can run up to $3200.

I insist on removing the oil fiter myself at all times. Imagine if some of the wear debris inside the filter would enter the engine...
