It doesn't. 3,6,9 are in white gold.

Lumed 3/6/9 numerals look much better, they should have did the easy thing and lumed all the numbers. If it has no more cage, then it should be slimmer, should be a great stand in for the gone 39mm explorer

I don’t love the air king in general and wish they would have changed the dial but this is objectively an improvement and the new case style is exciting. Can’t wait to see that case with a better dial ie milgauss!

The previous AK model was probably the least popular SS model in the Rolex lineup.

I can't see any major improvements in this 'new' model to change that.

Considering the previous iteration was basically a Milguass case with left over explorer indices, it’s great rolex brought the air king into its own “body”
The air king was my first rolex all those many years ago and given an opportunity at msrp I would gladly snag one.

This is a great way to wear your rolex with a little “pop” but still have an under the radar GADA

side by side comparison with the old one. it also has a more distinct, sharper side profile.

The dial changes and crown guards helped, but not worth the effort. I’m surprised it’s still in the catalog.

I kind of like it. I think it’s a better new release than the GMT.

I like that it has more of its own design over the Milgauss now and the update to the AK line. Rolex only ever really does incremental changes, I think it’s a good one.

One thing I said from day one on the Air King it needed to be 05.. I could never unsee the 5 only on mine.
Crown guard is a surprise.

Still don't care for it one bit. That dial is impossible to look at.

Crown guards are OK, the extra 0 just makes the dial even busier to me.

A 40mm Explorer using this case would have been amazing.

Always said it needed to be 05 from the start.
New case with crown guards mean thinner without cage as well?

Seems more legible now. Unsure why they didn’t just add an old school inspired AK ref 14000 dial inspiration which was more understated and classy. Plus it would put the OP back in its place.

Any more side by sides? Is there lume on all digits now or just 3/6/9?

I love it. 40mm is too big for me but it’s handsome and the refinements indicate commitment by Rolex. Milgaus next!

I like this new model. I thought the clasp on the old model was a disappointment. Now with the lume on the 3,6 and 9, I think it looks much better. Crown guards give it a little more of a sporty vibe. Probably my favourite model of this release.

Now they are using up the Explorer MK2 numbers (from the 39mm). Guess they had extras of those too considering MK2 was shorter production than MK1s now.

...

With this case... dare I say, we might see a 40mm Explorer 1 with crown guards in the future??? (I said it first haha!)
