Dear 2careless & idko1,
If this were a marketing endeavor all I can say is it's pretty sloppy data collection. I'd also say I'm missing a few demographics to say the least. What never fails to impress me, however, is the young age at which some people acquire their first Rolex. At 14 years of age, much the antithesis of our own Kyle, I wouldn't have even known the word "Rolex" let alone owned this timepiece. I was too busy riding my skateboard and getting into mischief with my best friend Marcy. Faith

21 October 1978 (Air King). Only not worn it when its been at Rolex for servicing. Speaking of which just off to dealer to pick it up - looking forward to it being all new and sparkly - until I whack it against something that is.
Dan

September 1985. I was almost 23, 6 months into my first (post college ) job, and I used my entire first bonus check to buy a GMT 16750. I had lusted after Rolex's since I was a kid when a older neighbor who was a pilot bought his GMT. He bought his in 1969, I seem to remember him saying he paid in the range of $300-$350, a kings ransom then. His is a matte face. We both still have them. I'm wearing mine right now.

December 1986.
SS Submariner date. I was 24, a soldier, and bought it as a present to myself after passing a gruelling 16 week Infantry Section Commander's Course.
