I don't wear mine all that often, but it really comes in handy when I want a watch that can take a beating and wear anywhere. It gets a lot of use at the beach and when doing yardwork at the house. For the price they are tough to beat.

I shall post my G-Shock collection tomorrow, but I just completed my own GA-2100 Casioak build and wanted to share as I think EVERY 2100 should at least get this modification!!!

I loved the 2100 ever since it came out but couldn't put up with poor lume (I know it has a light function, but I thought Casio missed a HUGE opportunity with those bold markers!!

Enter SKXMOD and their newly launched configurator for making AP RO lookalike.
Not a fan of those, BUT, noticed they offer EXACTLY the parts I needed to fix Casios mistake.

So here you go, I FIXED IT!!!
The hour markers are as shock resistant as the original, as they are a plastic ring with prongs, LIKE the original, with lume nestled inside, so it can't fall off during shock!!

That is really cool. The lack of lumed indices is my biggest gripe about this watch. That's a huge upgrade. I had no idea this could be done.

I guess it fits ok, both on my wrist and alongside the other two.

Calibrated the Rangeman at sea-level today and took it, and one of the dogs, up to 750 feet. Will get to 1,000 next time

Found a useful item in Ikea the other day, which helps me keep my G-Shocks in one place, charging and receiving, and makes an easily portable display. I put it in my home-office corner window, where it gets plenty of light, or the bedroom bay window, which has a better Multiband reception. Anyway, just thought I'd share in case anyone else might have use for one. They're only US$2.50, and are made in Slovenia, not China, for a change. It's part of the Familj line of kitchen stuff, and as you probably guessed from the pics is actually a paper towel holder

Nice job. I still remember how fiddly it was to depress the adjust button on my first digital watch back in 1978. I think I had to use a pen to do it. It wasn't a Casio but looked a bit like my A159.

Does anybody own a GWGB1000 Mudmaster. The only watch I own is an Omega Seamaster 300m. I have never owned a watch like the G shock. How much bigger will the G shock "wear" compared to my Omega?

I don't have those particular watches but I regularly wear a 36mm (10mm thick) Grand Seiko and a 54mm (17mm thick) G-Shock Rangeman (mainly when hiking). I have a 6.75 inch wrist and while the Seiko is a better fit, the G-Shock feels and looks fine, and at 93 grams is 27 grams lighter than the Seiko. It might take some getting used to, but you will get used to it, I'm sure.

I just got this GWX-5700 in from Japan today (shipped yesterday!). It's a JDM (Japan-only) white version of a moonphase/tide level surfer watch that I've had an eye on for a while. I don't surf but my apartment overlooks the beach and nearby islands, and the moon is in view most nights, so it's just a fun toy on top of all the usual G-Shock functionality. It's also my only white watch since the 1980s

The caseback batch code tells me it was made in February this year, so it should be good for solar/atomic self-sufficiency for 20+ years, I guess.

GShocks are the only less expensive watch I own.
A few years ago I bought a few of the various LEs and still have them all new in the box.
A little over a year ago I decided to replace the cheap digital watch I just kept strapped to my travel backpack as a backup with a G as we were going to Mexico and I wanted something I could wear when we were out of the resort so I bought a red G (my kid loves red) and as soon as I got it I ordered the same model in black as well (the red one is now attached to my travel backpack)
A few months later I discovered the MRGB5000 and thought it was crazy! A GShock that cost $3500??? Well I had to have one and got one soon after.
The GShocks and my Omega X-33 are my only battery watches.
Anyway I have to say I love the thing! The MRGB5000 is light, comfortable and no one looks twice at it!
