Paris 2024. 9.79 Noah Lyles

100 years and 0.81 sec 'improvement'. Given the nutritional, training, footwear and track surface advances, quite unremarkable really.
Even less remarkable is that the fastest white guys are still running about 10.6.

9.93

although it would be interesting to see how fast any elite sprinter could run on a cinder track such as was used in 1924, without starting blocks or modern shoe technology.

I'm pretty sure that training techniques in 1924 included limiting yourself to only filtered cigarettes during the season

I'm totally with you! The 2024 Summer Olympics are captivating, especially with the impressive performances in tennis from Britain and Spain. The excitement and energy of the games are truly something special. Enjoy the Olympics!

Watched some of the Skateboarding this afternoon, and have learned a new language today.

I have to say, who doesn't love a, "back-side, nose grind"?

The mens 1500m final was nuts. Wasn't expecting Hocker to win that one.

What about Quincy Hall taking the gold. That finish in the 400m was amazing. I didn't even think he was going to medal when they came out of the turn

I wish darts had been included as an Olympic sport.

Apparently, Australia's break dancing was in a way highly remarkable

If you go to the Olympics to be judged, then don't cry when the public judges your performance.
