Probably messed up the card or had the wrong one and needed to find it.

No biggie things happen. ADs always make it right.

Now make joke of it and ask for a hard to get piece.

I believe Rolex ADs are in the process of issuing new style of boxes. There are also subtle changes to the warranty card. The issue (which now stands resolved) could be attributed to that.
