Lisa, that was just lovely!

Thank you so much for that wonderful video my friend! I really enjoyed that and I hope you'll post many more (even if it makes you a bit nervous, I know I feel the same every single time! )!

Glad you liked it, Carl.

I think we all need to do this - for accent comparison!

Ha! That was awesome. Lisa you have the nicest voice with just a hint of southern accent. It's one of those voices that makes people want to hear more. I'll bet if your voice asked me nicely to pick up my socks I wouldn't even mind.
Yep, that was cool alright.

Nah, the only time anyone listens to what I say is when I start yelling.

Indeed!

...Now the other day I started to practice my British accent with a colleague of mine, would you like me to post a video about it?

I understand. If I'm asking people to pick up their socks the voice tends to take on a rather shrill tone. To put it mildly.

I still want to hear you, Bill. Rhode Island, you say? So you sound a little like Peter Griffin?

The only US accents I think I can distinguish is deep southern, and maybe the new york twang. I know there must be loads of others but just blend into one for us brits. We have a lot of US TV/films here and I can never tell you what part of the country the actors are from.

Lisa I could of never placed your accent apart from obviously being american.

Does this make sense? Even Canadian sounds the same as US.

Not if you're French Canadian!

I must agree though, I can't really tell the difference between two "American" English accents (except the ones for the very South, that is).

I know what you mean, Carl and Wes. I know different parts of England have different accents, but I can't distinguish among them. Maybe I'd know Cockney if I heard it. Doesn't matter - love them all!

I don't actually have much of an Okie accent, unless I want to.

Well didn't you live in Texas for a few years? Do you still have the accent?

...So far for being able to recognize an accent from the deep South!

YES i do! So i'll figure it out- and ask advice if i need it; I have to make dinner and get Austin to practice, so will try when i get home....i'm not stalling, promise!

Bill- I want to hear you say something like...".I want to get a beer down on the harbour pier......" Just to compare a R.I. sound to a Maine one,

and Carl............don't feel any pressure here to show us a video.....Wes ,i'm sure, would not want to have you feel any guilt or anything...( At least not while he is sticking pins into his carl-voodoo doll!)
(seriously though mon ami- i think you should remain a "man of mystery" )

I've showed you a lot of videos actually Michelle! I just happen to prefer filming my belly!

Yours truly,

The man of mystery (apart from his belly).

EDIT: Bon appétit my friends! I'm off for a little while, I must prepare myself a little something to eat.

Texas and Oklahoma accents are pretty similar... not sure I could even tell the difference.

We're off to a very bad start then...

Alright guys, I'm back from my cooking session and must admit it didn't go as expected. I made a whole lot of brown rice for my other meals but it seems like I somehow messed it up and it became gooey (I know brown rice is more sticky than the white but...well...I just don't know what happened).

That's when I had a very...very good idea!

Heck, if my rice is going to look disgusting, so will my meal!

There you go guys, a mix of vegetables, mushrooms, fish (a trout filet I cut in the pan, it was easier to cook it this was as it was frozen) and gooey brown rice!

Believe it or not, I actually find it delicious!

Well done Bill, very nice.

Ok so that's a Rhode Island accent. I'm making notes.

Bill, that was OUTSTANDING! Laughed out loud!

Pawk the cah.

It's so fun to hear you - all these years of knowing you and I only could imagine how you sounded. Great voice and well done.

Erm, that is one fine Peter you have there.

Beautiful video Michelle! That was very classy to propose a toast to the wonderful (and unfortunately now gone it seems) Elaine as well as to all of us! You are a great asset to this thread and I really enjoy your presence around here!

...Now I must admit though, the faces you made while drinking that wine were priceless! Too bad it wasn't as good as your video!
