Don’t you love how he claims he’s not a watch collector, rather an watch EXPERIENCE collector. How cheesy?!? Just say I’m a YouTube monetizer collector.

That’s what bugged me most about his video. I originally subscribed to him because he seemed to be a watch fanatic. However, after that video, I realized he just enjoys the thrill of making a big purchase. He’s a fan of purchase adrenaline, not watches — he could replace watches with any number of luxury goods and achieve the same effect.

Exactly. He collects fodder for content to post on YouTube, not watches or “experiences.” I know everyone with their own channel is trying to keep the content mill going to some extent, but I’ve started unsubscribing from the ones that seem to be the most blatant/cynical about it. Bruce was a recent one. The Time Teller was another one.

Sorry for the ignorant question, but is it possible to get either the 3 hand or dual time from the AD? or is the boutique the better route?

Anyone have a vacheron overseas 4500v brown dial and is willing to sell? Ive been looking for months over months. Its the only color dial that I don’t have.
I’d appreciate any help in finding it.

Boutique is definitely the better route. Boutiques usually get much more watches than ADs, so you’ll have a better chance. If youre looking for any of the blue dials I suggest registering your name and waiting til you get a chance to pay deposit, then you have to wait another year for the watch to be delivered.

Welp, I did it. Went to the VC boutique in NYC 2 weeks ago to try on a blue dial Overseas Dual Time and it was magnificent. Spent the following two weeks ruminating over spending that kinda money on a watch. Contacted them yesterday to put a deposit down and my name on the list. According to my guy there, I was the last one accepted on the list. It is now closed for that model. I guess it was meant to be!

Congrats! I have a sneaking suspicion you won’t regret it, haha. It’s a stunning piece.

Congratulations, you should consider yourself lucky. Im here in london and getting on the list is impossible. Not even for the rose gold 4500v or perpetual calendar. Dubai also don’t take deposits anymore for the overseas models. I think the overseas collection is going to catch up to the royal oak and nautilus sometime in the near future.

Congrats, I ordered one from them about 2 weeks ago as well, so you're probably not far behind me. I was thrilled that they were so helpful; especially after the "meh" attitude from my nearest AD who said "maybe" they could get me on a list for a silver dial, but were unwilling to take a deposit or anything other than my contact info.

NYC boutique for the win!

I'm surprised the ADs are still taking deposits on the blue ones!

ADs don’t have blue dials, they are boutique exclusive. At least thats what the local boutique manager told me. They take deposits for a year, as soon as a watch is delivered, theres an open slot for another deposit. But still, to get the chance to put a deposit is pretty hard. Theres a waiting list, and theres also a list of preferred clients.

Nice A.! That looks great on you. I've been toying with the idea of getting into these but was reluctant due to wrist size. It looks like it fits pretty decently on you though. Congrats.

Thanks J! Can you get there by June 1 - hearing 23k then. It’s not a small piece. Id say wears similar to 39mm royal oak as the endlink flares out. It’s doable on my 6.5 but certainly takes up my entire topside. I do wish it was 39-40 instead but she’s a beauty and I’m lucky to have one.

Haha....I'm not VIIIIP with Vacheron @ all so I'm going to have to bite the price increase. But another friend with a similar wrist size showed me his shots and that's what got me thinking. Seeing this on you makes me believe it more. Try it on the rubber straps I heard from yet another buddy that recently got one that it wears smaller that way. Enjoy in good health!

Ever go on a date with a pretty girl, and while you try to avoid seeming desperate by not calling too much, you see a pic of her on Facebook and the temptation grows?

I will not call the boutique. I just put down my deposit last month. Grrr...
