Our living room floor is covered in scattered candy. The trading, sorting, piling and tasting is over for now as the kids are heading for bed. Surprisingly not sugar buzzed too badly - guess they're too tired to feel it.

They need to go to sleep already so I can start the pilfering.....

Everyone, this is kind of funny but growing up I was always the one with common sense and would figure out ways to connive, figure out the angles and get around our parents edicts and rules.....my mother was into Vitamins and nutrition and we were not allowed to have most of the candy or anything else with sugar. We were allowed to keep ten pieces and the rest my Dad would take to the local hospital for the children who were in the hospital to have. So on Halloween we went out gathering candy and of course in those days you went out when you got home from school and continued until around 9:30PM at night. Also candy bars were full size back then and bigger than the ones you buy for over a dollar a piece today.....My idea was to stash a bag in the evergreen shrubs in our front yard and when we came home first we would get the extra bag and go under a street Light and pick out most all of the best stuff of the candy and then stash the bag before going inside. This worked like a charm and they never figured this out...of course once we were grown men(and I use that term loosely)we told them all about this!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

Morning everyone. DavidSW really sorted me out. I did ask him if they had beige markers but alas no. Even has Mum's name on the warranty.

WES!! The watch is fabulous!! Your Mom will love it- not only because thats what mothers do when their sons buy them a Rolex ....but it truly will look fantastic on her; As I had mentioned, a more neutral "colouring" is much more versatile- she will wear it with everything! Well done!!

Beautiful, just beautiful!

Do tell us exactly how she reacts when you'll give it to her!

I remember those days!! I could pilfer from Austin...but Kate kept count of her stuff - I could never get away with nipping into her bag...
How was your weather Lisa? ( we had rain)

Yeah is beautiful, and will look great. Having a little bit of anxiety whether she is actually gonna be able to read the time. Should of really asked her and thought about this a bit more, she does need reading glasses.

The silver dial is quite legible, did stop in an AD a couple days ago, think more so than the salmon, blue and black dials, but maybe the white might be slightly better.

Think the fact is if she struggles with this, don't think there is a watch out there she can read the time easily on, apart from maybe the Deepsea

Heh, Michelle and Leo know the score about Halloween! Leo, you came up with a genius scheme to hang on to your candy.

Wes, the watch is lovely. What a good guy you are. When will you give it to your mum? Will you have piccies for us?

Thanks Wes! I would not worry about the watch's readability...the 3 6 9 are all a good size... and the watch does have that groovy LUME....your Mom will love that in low light conditions

PS- could you post some curtain pics?

I find it's not the markers that really count on legibility, but hands against the dial. Not much I can do now, it's done.

Yep curtains are up and look good, was hoping to get the whole room done before I post pics. Had to order a custom lampshade which is gonna take 3 weeks to come, and still gotta get some other stuff. Hopefully then.

Just glad my Dad doesn't wear a watch, and couldn't be trusted to look after a nice one.

Nice choice, Wes. I wish my wife would get one of those. I am considering one for my daughter in a few years.

You picked right with David, he lives very close to me and is a great guy. Very interesting guy to sit down with. Very honest.

Well I have my dad eyes, I get lots of comments about having bright green eyes. And anyone that sees me and dad together say I can tell by the eyes. Funny as not something I notice in the mirror, and can't really find a photo that shows this????
