Hey Wes- I've got green eyes too- depending on what I'm wearing, they either look dark blue-ish or green; I think photographs don't pick up green eyes nearly as well as blue. In your photo your eyes look hazel, probably because of the flash...do you have any day time pics?

How do I find him Art? Does he have a website? I've been looking in the For Sale forum, and have not come across any DAVIDSW yet...(I won't be seriously shopping until next summer, but I'd like to see what he carries)

Think you've got to have a really close up pic to tell, can't find one closer than the one I posted. Might try to take one.

Does post his watches in the for sale section. Don't know about a website. If you want a particular watch just PM him, that's what I did.

Sitting back with a cup of tea thinking about the last HS soccer game of the season. They suffered a BS bad call loss in overtime. Shame to have the season taken away from them like this. No guarantee they would have won anyway but still a shame to have it taken from them by an incompetent referee. Referees should be accountable.
The kids worked hard. That's just what kids on teams do. My son had fun this season. More fun than past years. The torch has been passed. The asst coach told Ethan it's all up to him next year. He will lead the team next year. There were 14 seniors on the team this year. Next year there will be 2. It will be a tough road.

Bill, I'm sorry for your son and his team to have the game and season come down to one bad call/decision which ends their season. But remember he is learning and learning valuable lessons as he continues to grow and you and Wendy are there to pick up the pieces and show him love, strength and give him the necessary skills to cope with life and disappointments.....I know it's a hard lesson but life is not always fair!!!

Wes, you are absolutely correct...your Mom was always there for you (and still is)and made sacrifices so you could grow up and become a self sufficient man...so giving her gifts out of love will always be well received and I'm sure will bring a tear to her eyes!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

Btw.....you are the lucky one as your parents are still alive...a day doesn't go by that I wish I could hug my parents and tell them that I love them and.....Thank you..............

Oh, by the way, yesterday I had my appointment with the Hand Surgeon down in the city(Chicago) at Rush Orthopaedic Center and he said I am not a candidate for Wrist Replacement Surgery because at 58yrs. I am to young. They only are doing these types of surgeries for adult who are 70 and older and who are not active. He said my choices are to continue to live with it and the pain and limit my activities. Or Bone Fusion surgery and live with the very limited mobility(basically no range of motion at all...total fusion)and the consequences down the road. He showed me the X-rays and all the bones in my right wrist have collapsed and are totally out of alignment.....doesn't look to pretty!!!

Sorry to hear Leo there is no obvious solution. Are you considering bone fusion for the wrist. Just doing a quick google search, seems like most people that have had it done are happy they did and still have good hand function, although obviously there is some trade off.

http://community.arthritis.org/forum...78-1817-1.aspx

Maybe start doing some research on this.

Yes, you will see him on the sales forum. He has a Micky Mouse avatar. And like Wes says. You can contact him and tell him what you are looking for.

Wes, thanx for the link as I went their and read about 30 responses and know I need to read more but I do not want to loose my range of motion...which occurs with bone fusion(you lose the 360 degree rotational movement of your wrist).....I keep my fingers crossed that once Fall settles in my pain will calm down a bit and I will be able to deal with the pain!!!
But I'm sure I'm just kidding myself and just prolonging the inevitable....

I obviously have no experience with bone fusion, not something I've had done. One of my fingers tendon is busted, and when looking to have this fixed, surgeon suggested fusion. I turned it down as I have no pain, so would of been no benefit. But I think you'll be surprised what you can do and how you adapt as long as you have decent finger function. Funny I knew before reading that thread that there would be a lot of positive stories in it. Obviously gather as much info as you can.

Was told that quite a few sports stars have had it done in ankle/hands.

Leo, sorry you turned out not to be a candidate. Seems weird that they reserve replacement surgery for older people who don't move around much... why give them new wrists if they aren't going to be using them?

Do you take glucosamine supplements? Not sure even how to spell it, but it's supposed to help with joint pain.

Wes, I'd forgotten you had a severed tendon... sure can't tell from your piano playing.

Wes, you have been blessed! with a "close family"-There is a lot of love and you all will forever be there for each other....and this is your parent's accomplishment-they set the stage!
You sure don't look 35! Whats cool is that you look younger, but you have a maturity that (I would argue) some 45 year old guys don't have yet...

Bill, you nailed it!- this referee accountability issue runs across all sports- they are like those old Roman gods, whose whims and moods affected the destinies of poor mortals...

Maybe they are saying that wrist replacement affects mobility way to much- so is only suitable for people who are not active....
Hang in there Leo...have you sought out any natural pain management options- maybe acupuncture?

Haha, maybe because I post pics up either of university or Maldives a few years ago.

Here's a not so good one a few months ago with Dino. See no green eyes, just red.

You got to quit wearing blue shirts, Wes - that makes your eyes look blue. How about an emerald green polo?

My husband has green eyes - but no one else in his family does. His dad's and sister's are brilliant blue. His mom's are hazel. Alas, though this is my favorite eye color, none of our kids have green eyes. Sometimes I think a tiny bit of green can be detected in June's eyes... it's likely wishful thinking.

That's Dino, as in our TRF Dino?

That would work, Wes!

Wearing green to bring out the green in your eyes is probably just an optical illusion... but isn't all color merely an optical illusion....?????

Lisa- your girls have your amazing brown eyes, I think! The nice thing about brown eyes is that you don't have to wear colour enhancing clothing...brown eyes can "stand" on their own!

Good morning coffeeshop; Yesterday,(Saturday), gave me some "food for thought".....

So... The Man Cold- Nature VS Nurture......Do men really suffer more then women when they are feeling ill? Or is their response installed in them by over-reactive mothers who "baby" their boys? Yesterday, my poor baby boy, (15) was feeling unwell- yes he had a fever and a tummy ache....but he lay there in his bed and , on a steady basis all day long, moaned "Mooooommm" ;Well my maternal instinct went into hyperdrive, and all day long I catered to his every little whim- he did not have to lift a finger....
Well, around 6pm it finally occurred to me that I never had to do this song and dance for my daughter when she was sick- why? - because she was never as vocal/whiny when feeling unwell...
So folks, Nature-are men truly more sensitive when feeling sick, or Nurture- is this reaction encouraged by (overly) caring mothers....

Believe me, No. It is most certainly Not the result of overly caring mothers that makes male colds the worst. It's just nature. Basically it takes SO much to bring us big strong guys down. Common colds bounce off us like rain. We don't even notice them. It's the super colds that bring us down. If we moan it's only due to the extreme discomfort that would cause anyone less tough to cry.

Michelle, I believe many men are just complainers when they get sick and want to be 'babied' by their Mom's because it makes them feel better when 'Mom' comes to the rescue. I never was given this luxury as a boy or now as an adult.....I have always had to fend for myself.....but I do believe that this 'scenario' has been created by society and we are conditioned to want and have our 'Mom's' take care of us.....and of course when 'Mom' gets sick there is a whole new connotation.....and guys look at it as 'now what are we suppose to do when Mom is sick in bed'!!!
Take it easy.....Leo
And when can I have a glass of ginger ale???

Leo- do you want your ginger ale "flat",(no bubbles) if so, you might have to wait 30 min. If however you don't mind the carbonation- I can get that to you now!

Austin is a Canadian and as such he probably chops down trees in his spare time (we think all Canadians are lumberjacks) and hes a hockey player. Believe me, that kid probably wrestles germs into submission. If he's sick it's probably with a germ that could wipe out a small village.
Get well soon Kid.
