RM schoolboy question but what is the N (neutral) setting for? I know W (winding) and H (hands) and the obvious reasons for them modes but don't understand the N

Well they had the possibility to do it and thought it would be cool to put a 3rd where nothing happens,

It’s not a manual movement, Roger, it’s an automatic.
No button – crown position activates the WDH (wind, date, hands) indicator.

Not getting the premise for an N position on a manually wound movement, since why would you want the crown disengaged completely?
Unless you’re subconsciously a crown fiddler (there are worse things to be accused of!), a crown returned to W shouldn’t be considered a liability.

On the tourbillon models I imagine the N function is because the time setting module is outside the main movement so presumably in the N mode it is disengaged for protection in the event of say the watch being dropped.

Wow I just saw the dimensions of the 67. 7.75mm deep. I think this is going to be a really nice piece. By reference the 11 is over 16mm deep.

I think it's a great 'office' piece (suit and tie) as I mentioned, due to the classic RM case design (yet slimmer).

Agree Paul. Still think the track marks around the dial are a detracting element.

And the crown I'm not wild about...however at least you can see the numbers on the dial

Agree--great to see more sports watch lovers adding this amazing brand to their collection.

Congrats again John.

Love to hear your thoughts on the 011 and RM as a new owner (you own every brand from Rolex, AP, Patek, etc...good to get a comparison from someone with a broad collection).

Thanks for the wishes guys, it is much appreciated.

I am thrilled with this piece. I for one never thought RM was anything special, nor did I think I would ever be in a position to purchase one.

Over the last few years I have actively collected a variety of your typical brands, Rolex, Patek, AP, etc. After accumulating WAY too many pieces, I decided that I was going to give RM a try.

I am certainly a sports watch guy. Although I do wear a shirt and tie to work, you are rarely going to catch me at formal events or in a suit.

That being said, I decided to thin out my collection a bit and give the RM-11 a shot. After hours talking with Paul, I began my search for this piece. The watch presented itself to me much faster than anticipated and I was ready to make the move.

The RM-11 arrived Friday. After spending the whole weekend with the piece, I can honestly say I do not own a nicer watch. The build quality on this watch is unparalleled. The attention to detail is like nothing I have seen before. Granted it is a larger watch, the curved case is a game changer. It truly fits like a glove and is beyond comfortable.

When I started looking at pictures of RM's I wasn't sold. I thought they were busy, awfully expensive, and possibly even cheap looking. After some time with one, that is the furthest thing from the case. Looking at one online vs on the wrist is night and day. The dial's 3D characteristics and depth cannot be explained or visualized in a photo, it's just a fact that you have to see these watches and spend time with them to appreciate them.

I encourage anyone on the fence, or anyone with a vast collection to give up some pieces, or at least some time to check out RM. I am really glad I did. In my opinion the quality surpasses what we expect from our other watch brands.

I am so pleased that I am thinning out my collection a bit more for a SECOND incoming!

I can't thank Paul enough for his time, advice, and suggestions to move me into the RM brand. It's been a pleasure making a new friend and finding a new brand that I am passionate about.

John -

Fantastic review and WOW another RM already incoming

It was great to chat with you and your description of the layers and complexity of the dial and movement are spot on. Must be seen in person.

Very excited for you and glad to have you in the RM family

Congrats. RM 011 is such an awesome piece. I would wear it everyday if I didn't have to mix it up for IG.

Haters will be haters, but thank you for taking the time out of your day (like a 10 year old) to post.

Enjoy whatever makes you happy.

I admire RM but that particular watch is in the realm of a child like fantasy toy as I see it. That might be a good thing as are both Seiko and Lego! Having an opinion on something , and you couldn't deny that this watch would divide opinions doesn't make a person a hater, whatever that actually is.

I'm a huge fan of RM and am saving up for my first piece. As a student with limited means (and don't want to sell any of my collection) it will take a while for me to save up even to an entry level, however hoping that before i graduate in 2 years I will have my first piece.
