Congrats! It is phenomenal. Glad you were able to pick one up at a reasonable price.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it. I can honestly say the store has taken great care of me, even after the distributor told them "Not a chance" when he requested this for me back in October. Since then, he got me several moderately allocated bottles to try and make up for it, like the Elijah Craig 18, a Kentucky Owl Batch 9 (which he had to fight the distributors to get, also, since they wanted to keep it all in Vegas!), several Weller 12s in the last year, a Michter's Rye Barrel Proof, Yamazaki 12, Michter's 10, the entire Little Book vertical (1-3) in a single shot,
Woodford Batch Proof, and the Yellowstone 101 LE 2019. All of those at, or below, retail. On top of all that, he has two delicious store picks: a Russel's Reserve and a Peerless Rye 3-year. I try to buy something normal every time I stop in, just to keep some other product moving, as well!

Scotch!

Lagavulin lovers, if you haven’t tried the distillers Édition, do so! Incredible. Also, Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Heavily Peated is fantastic.

Noice. Oaky but with the right amount of sweetness and bitterness to round off this good Japanese whisky.

Nice get on the Eagle Rare 17. It's going for around 1600 on wine-searcher.

My local joint has several bottles of the Kentucky Owl Batch 9 ($324) right now.

A lot of the Buffalo trace stuff (even base Buffalo Trace) is now allocation at the places immediately surrounding me.

Met up recently with a great friend who’s been generous with his whiskey bunker and wine cellar. Finally got to repay him a bit with some pours of unicorn juice. Fun side by side with the distant relative that he brought.

On the left - ORVW 10
On the right - Old Fitzgerald 6 year BIB barreled at the legendary Stitzel-Weller distillery in 1950

The OF was magical, both on the nose and palate. My wife remarked the next day when washing the glasses we used that it smelled absolutely amazing.

The one I am enjoying these days: Säntis Malt, Edition Dreifaltigkeit (52 % vol.), a swiss alpine single malt distilled in Appenzell, Switzerland. A smoky mixture, both woody and earthy, with a faint taste of caramel. Pure class!

Anyone heard of Chattanooga Whiskey, or had experience with it? We're heading there in a couple weeks and wanted to see if it was worth grabbing a couple bottles.
