Cecilia, I'm sure any of the items you are looking at she will love and enjoy wearing but my vote goes to either of the heart pendants. I especially like the second one with two hearts to signify you and your daughter!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

I like them all, C, but my favorite might be the gold Love bracelet. Followed by the heart pendant.

What is "Nameday?"

Hey Wes- How does your family celebrate Christmas? I'm guessing they all flock over to Uncle Wes' house, but your Mom and sister in law do the cooking.?

Almost as good as Fathers Day - the greatest holiday of them all.
You are right about no BS on Thanksgiving Bill! Nobody is pressuring you to buy your loved one a diamond something or a surround sound audio system!

I have always enjoyed Thanksgiving and we would get together at my older brother's home(after my mother relinquished the day and cooking to Mary, my SIL)on Thanksgiving Day. Now since they moved to Rural Southwestern Missouri about 10 years ago my wife takes the week off before Thanksgiving and we drive down on Monday and stay through till Saturday when we drive back home. We have a great week together, have a chance to visit and catch up and John and Mary's daughter and her family drive up from Florida the weekend preceding Thanksgiving. It's one long party and lots of alcohol consumption by those who drink.....oh...I almost forgot our son takes a couple of vacation days as well and drives up from Little Rock Arkansas for an extended weekend. And starting last year our younger brother flies in from L.A. And we have a great family get together. So I know each year I look forward to this week and spending time with everyone.....and it doesn't hurt that there is a winery about 3/4's of a mile away!!!

Take it easy.....Leo
Now that is what a Holiday should really be about!!!!!!!!!! Just a chance for everyone to get together and catch-up with each other's lives
I hope this coming Thanksgiving holds many special times for you Leo!

I'm sure, after the extended parental stay, You won't be hosting Christmas dinner this year either!(or you should not have to ) How did your talk with your parents go over? (do they appear to be packing yet?)

Well it didn't go that well, I had to end up getting into an argument with them(or my dad mostly). Everytime they say they are gonna go back to Ireland something comes up. Some doctors appointment(checkup), or accountant appointment or Estate agent saying theres an offer on their house here. So I lost it a bit, which is the last thing I wanted. Dad finally got my side of it and strangely enough was in tears later on, saying what a great Son I was.

So I feel really guilty about saying I want my house back, but they have a house empty, they get more rent for their UK house than my monthly salary. They can sort themselves out.

Anyway Mum is flying back to Ireland for a few days for a court case, and when she get back(2weeks) they will be driving back. But guess what, the Estate agent has just got back to them yesterday saying their vendor now wants to complete the sale in the next couple months.

So again will have to wait to see whether they will go back.

Name Day is the day when you have nameday. days where your name appears in the calendar. we celebrate with a small dinner or a small gift. I had intended to give our daughter a combined Christmas and name day gift. I like the heart the best, in red gold. Her middle name is Eva.

Good afternoon Coffeeshop! Enjoying a little day off today in Montreal (at my girlfriend's apartment)!

Michelle, if you never attended a Neil Young's show, it's definitely a thing that has to be on your bucket list!

Otherwise I must say I haven't heard any Christmas songs or seen any commercials yet...perhaps I'm just that lucky but I'm sure my time will come as we've already put our Christmas stuff out at the store where I work (yes, even animals get Christmas gifts nowadays! ).

Cecilia! It's always great to see you posting!

In all honesty I like heart pendents but I think we've seen so many of them that I'd personally go with the love bracelet. It's just my opinion though but I think it looks more unique and special!

And here's a little something for you guys, I am in deep love!

...And a better picture! I'm no Jocke but must admit (as I've already said elsewhere on the forum) that this watch is a real pleasure to shoot, the dial looks just great, I really like it!

depends on the neighborhood, some areas are still very much in a state of catastrophe!

reminds me of new orleans after Katrina, difference being there is a great financial interest to rebuild all the areas in nyc, many parts that Katrina effected did not have the resources to get them back.

I apologize but I'm still a confused American...how does your name just appear in the calendar? Do you have special calendars printed up with your name appearing in them? Does it signify some kind of special event.....I'm still not clear on it's meaning!!!

Me, neither, Leo. I'm going to do some reading on this....

Carl - what a gorgeous JLC. It's really in nice condition. Sorry if you already mentioned the details, but where did you find it and how old is it?

I can understand the will try to sort it out for you :) this is how our calender looks like, and here some input regarding the historie behind it
Name Days originated in the Christian tradition. And has its origins in the Catholic Church martyrologium? and the early name lengths, essentially a list of saints and martyrs, and name days celebrated in their honor. Today is the name day tradition alive in the Greek Orthodox Church and other Orthodox churches, and in the Roman Catholic world. But even in some Protestant countries in eastern and northern Europe, including Sweden and Finland. In the rest of Europe Name Day celebration ulti rare. The Greek Church Father [John Chrysostom]? provided for the year 388, that parents would give their children names after holy people. The saint would be both a role model for his namesake? and a kind of patron. These holy men and women, who were often martyrs, was taken into the new church martyrologium? which quickly grew into an extensive list divided by a liturgical calendar

Why are all keyboard players in bands weird and creepy. No wonder they keep them hidden at the back of the stage.
